When Ronda Rousey and Julie Carano both returned to fighting, their match began cautiously, with each fighter trying to assess the other. Almost immediately, Rousey aggressively moved in and took Carano down, though Carano briefly attempted a guillotine choke. Rousey quickly countered with a couple of punches, forcing Carano to release the hold, and then Rousey secured an armbar. Carano tapped out almost instantly, ending the fight in just 17 seconds and giving Rousey the win.

After the fight, Ariel Helwani spoke with Ronda Rousey and asked what she said to Miesha Tate. Rousey explained, ‘I told her she’s my hero, and I just thanked her for everything, for bringing me back home.’

Helwani then asked Rousey if she might fight again, noting how strong she looked in this return. Rousey quickly dismissed the idea, saying she couldn’t have ended her career any better and that she now wants to focus on starting a family. It seems this time, she’s definitely retiring from MMA.
