Subnautica 2 Guide – How To Get All 6 Inventory Upgrades And Increase Inventory Slots

In Subnautica 2, you can find Biobeds that offer upgrades to both your inventory space and the number of tools you can carry. These upgrades, called Endurance and Dexterity Adaptations, are located in various underwater bunkers near your Lifepod, at different depths.

Biobed #1

Swim southwest from the Lifepod until you see a wing fragment about 20 meters below. Turn around so the wing is now behind you, then look down to find the entrance to a bunker. Be sure to use the Biobed, don’t just scan it, to get the ‘Endurance Adapted, Inventory Expanded’ upgrade.

Biobed #2

Head southeast from the Lifepod, keeping the Welcome Center on your right. You’ll see two small pillars on your left, and a larger one ahead on your right. Position yourself so the large pillar is slightly to the southwest, then look for a cave entrance about 40 meters ahead. You can also find this cave at the base of the large pillar. Inside the cave, turn right to find a bunker containing a Biobed and the Endurance Adaptation.

Biobed #3

Swim about 200 meters northeast from the Lifepod until you reach a large crack in the ground. Turn around and face southwest. You’ll see a cave entrance lit by a beacon about 30 meters below. Swim inside and turn left to find a third bunker containing a Biobed and the Endurance Adaptation.

Biobed #4

To reach this area, you’ll first need to complete the Heat Tolerance Adaptation upgrade.

Swim directly east from the Lifepod for a little over 450 meters. Pass the red, glowing pillars on your right and continue until you reach the large, wrecked structure. Once you’re facing the wreck (about 150 degrees), descend to around 80 meters to find an opening. Enter the first hallway on your left, then turn left again into the first room you see. Inside, you’ll find the fourth and final Biobed, which contains an Endurance Adaptation.

By this point you ought to have 32 inventory slots in all.

Biobed #5

From the Lifepod, head at a 15-degree angle, passing the strange four-armed statue on your left. Then, make a sharp turn to the northwest and you’ll see a platform about 35 meters ahead. To the left of the platform is a cave that leads straight down. It will be tricky to navigate at the bottom, but look for an opening heading northwest around 70 meters down. Once you go through it, turn southwest and you’ll see the glowing entrance to a bunker about 85 meters down. Inside, you’ll find a Biobed and your first Dexterity Adaptation, which will let you use tools more quickly.

Biobed #6

To get to the second and final Dexterity Adaptation, you’ll also need the Heat Tolerance Adaptation.

Okay, so from the Lifepod, head southeast, going past that bunker with Biobed #1 under the big pillar – you know the one. Just keep going deeper, past 50 meters, until everything turns that fiery orange color. Then, turn northeast and look for a crack in the seafloor around 85 meters down. Once you’re inside, quickly turn left and you’ll find the bunker entrance at 90 meters – that’s where the last Biobed is, and it’ll give you the Dexterity Adaptation!

This shows where to find all four Endurance Adaptations and two Dexterity Adaptations in Subnautica 2. These upgrades let you increase both your inventory space and the number of tools you can quickly access.
