Sebastian Stan is a different man now that he’s gearing up for fatherhood.
Following the announcement that they’re expecting a baby, 43-year-old actor Paul Mescal and his girlfriend, Annabelle Wallis, attended the Kering Women in Motion Awards during the Cannes Film Festival on May 17th.
Annabelle, 41, revealed she’s expecting a baby on the red carpet, wearing a glittering black gown with high boots. Her partner, Sebastian, looked sharp in a pinstriped black suit. He’s at Cannes Film Festival where his new movie, Fjord, is competing for an award.
After four years together, the couple revealed they are expecting a baby on May 12th. The actor, known for his role in Avengers: Endgame, told Deadline he’s looking forward to being a good father.
I’m hearing that Sebastian’s been doing some thoughtful research as they prepare for their little one! He’s been diving into the challenges young men face today – things like feeling isolated and the pressures of harmful stereotypes around masculinity. It’s lovely to see him proactively thinking about how to raise a well-adjusted child in today’s world, even before knowing if it’s a boy or a girl.
He shared that he’s really feeling the weight of being a good father and a good person overall. At 43, he feels like he’s only just beginning to truly understand things, which he finds surprising. He especially appreciates learning from other people’s perspectives.
He explained that he makes an effort to read widely, from all different perspectives, simply to gain understanding.
Sebastian and Annabelle generally keep their relationship private, but they’ve occasionally offered fans a peek at their connection, particularly during the 2025 awards season when Sebastian was nominated for his performances in The Apprentice and A Different Man.
At the Golden Globes ceremony, Sebastian and Annabelle shared a sweet moment when Sebastian won Best Actor for his role in A Different Man. He kissed Annabelle and affectionately acknowledged her in his acceptance speech, telling her, “I love you.”
In the same speech, the actor from Thunderbolts also talked about his childhood, expressing gratitude for his mother, Georgeta Orlovschi, and stepfather, Anthony “Tony” Fruhauf.
He dedicated his success to his mother, who emigrated from Romania to create a better future for him, and to his stepfather, Tony, for stepping up to support them both and being a wonderful father figure.
