As the premiere of the new film approaches, director Travis Knight has shared some surprising details about He-Man.
Fans have noticed that She-Ra hasn’t appeared in any of the trailers so far. There’s a rumor she’ll make a brief appearance after the credits, and one of the creators has suggested she’s being held back for a potential sequel.
I don’t want to reveal much about She-Ra right now. She’s always been closely connected to the Masters of the Universe and especially important to Adam’s journey. If we get the chance to continue telling stories in this world, She-Ra will definitely be a key character.
More He-Man reveals….
It’s also interesting to consider what was cut from the film. Already quite long at 140 minutes (over two hours and twenty minutes!), the director has indicated it could have been even longer, reaching truly epic proportions. Apparently, scenes featuring She-Ra’s alter ego, Princess Adora, were among those removed, as Knight explained…
I’m not sure if she’ll be in the final cut of the movie, but we talked a lot about the character. We ended up cutting some large scenes, which I regret, though I’m still proud of how the movie turned out. I hope we can release those deleted scenes sometime in the future.
While more announcements about He-Man are expected, Prime Video is already working on a new series starring the character. Heidi Schreck is writing and executive producing the show.
Nearly 40 years have passed since Dolph Lundgren first played the hero and Frank Langella starred as Skeletor in the live-action movie. However, with a box office of just $17 million, a second film was never made.
