Hyperliquid (HYPE), the cryptocurrency that’s more hyped than a wizard’s hat sale, has leapt 24% in six days, hitting $47.6. While the rest of the crypto market sulks like a troll with a toothache, HYPE is dancing a jig on a pile of institutional gold.
This rally has HYPE just 19% shy of its all-time high. Santiment’s onchain data shows social dominance hit 1.79% on May 14, which is about as dominant as a librarian in a room full of cats. But hey, it’s something!
May: The Month When Catalysts Rain Like Confetti
Santiment, the oracle of onchain wisdom, noted that two catalysts collided in mid-May like a pair of overenthusiastic trolls. The US Senate Banking Committee, in a rare moment of clarity, voted to advance the Clarity Act on May 14. Probably because they realized they’d been as clear as a mud pie.
On the same day, Coinbase announced it’s becoming the official treasury deployer of USDC on Hyperliquid. Circle, not wanting to be left out of the party, is also joining as a USDC technical deployer. Because why have one wizard when you can have two?
Bitwise, never one to miss a bandwagon, launched the BHYP ETF on the NYSE on May 15. They’ve promised to funnel 10% of management fees into HYPE buys, which is about as generous as a dwarf sharing his treasure-but we’ll take it.

Hyperliquid was built different.
As in, 99% of the blockchain’s revenue is used to buy and burn HYPE. It’s a community-first model based on this idea: If the protocol succeeds, the community succeeds. Or, as we like to say, “If the ship sails, everyone gets a parrot.”
In that spirit, we’re pleased to announce that Bitwise will be devoting 10%…

Whales Are Buying HYPE Like It’s Going Out of Fashion
Hyperliquid isn’t just riding the institutional wave; it’s also posting numbers that would make a goblin banker blush. Real-World Asset (RWA) trading hit a record $2.6 billion in open interest, doubling in the past two months. That’s more growth than a troll’s toenails after a rainy season.
Trade.xyz added fuel to the fire on May 18 with the launch of SPCX, a synthetic SpaceX pre-IPO perpetual built on Hyperliquid. Because who doesn’t want to bet on rockets before they even leave the ground?
24h revenue hit $1,829,079 – 100% used to buy back $HYPE and burn it permanently.
Total burned: +45,429,299 HYPE (worth over $2.2 billion). That’s more burning than a dragon with heartburn.
This already equals 14.65% of the entire HYPE Genesis airdrop. At this rate, we’ll be buying back the moon next.

Whale activity has been as frenzied as a dwarf at a pie-eating contest. Lookonchain spotted a wallet tied to a16z accumulating 372,000 HYPE. Since April 14, this wallet has bought 2.11M HYPE ($90.87M). That’s dedication, or possibly a very expensive typo.
“Since April 14, this wallet has bought a total of 2.11M HYPE ($90.87M),” the post read. Probably while sipping tea and muttering, “One does not simply ignore HYPE.”
OnChain Lens added that one address sold 1,733 XAUT worth $7.83 million and routed $10.2 million in USDC into Hyperliquid. The wallet then bought 103,636 HYPE and opened a 5x leveraged long. Another address deposited $4.87 million and acquired 102,055 HYPE near $47.75. That’s more leverage than a troll’s club.
Hyperliquid’s protocol routes roughly 99% of its revenue toward buying and burning HYPE. With ETFs, whales, and pre-IPO flows piling on, it’s like a bonfire that’s decided to burn the entire forest. In a good way.
