Finally, I Have a Reason to Play as My Street Fighter 6 Avatar on PS5, PS4 Again

Street Fighter 6 feels like a return to classic fighting games by giving its single-player mode the attention it deserves.

Look, this game is definitely built with esports in mind, but Capcom hasn’t forgotten about players like me who just want to have fun. The World Tour mode is a perfect example – it’s awesome and lets you jump in and enjoy the gameplay without needing to be a pro.

I’m really excited to hear that on May 28th, along with the new Ingrid update, the publisher will be releasing a lot of new content focused on avatars.

Okay, so for anyone new to this, your avatar is basically your character in the game – you get to fully customize them! They can learn awesome moves from all the different masters you meet. The best part? You can deck them out in cool gear, teach them tons of attacks, and then battle other players’ avatars online in the Battle Hub. It’s seriously addictive!

But alongside the new update, you’ll be able to do so much more with them.

I’m really excited about the Random Avatar Matches! Basically, it’s a way to quickly jump into online battles with other players’ avatars. The game will automatically balance everyone’s stats, so it’s fair even if some avatars are usually stronger. It’s a super easy way to get right into the action!

Winning matches will get you Avatar Points, letting you unlock cool new accessories and see how you rank against other players. It’s great that Capcom added these extra features!

Players who prefer to play alone will enjoy the new Avatar Arcade mode. In this mode, you can battle any of the game’s masters to earn bond points, letting you unlock their second outfit faster.

Okay, so the best part of this update, hands down, is Battle Tour. It’s basically a new arcade mode where you fight characters from World Tour, plus those super strong masters. And get this – you unlock classic Street Fighter endings and a ton of other cool stuff just by playing it! It seriously gives you a whole new reason to keep grinding.

Plus, all of this content is completely free, giving you even more reason to come back and improve your gameplay.

I’m really impressed with how well Street Fighter 6 is being supported after its release. I was already looking forward to playing as Ingrid, but these new avatar modes are fantastic and will probably keep me playing for many more hours.

This game really is the gift that keeps on giving.
