The latest Star Wars film, released after a four-year gap since 2019โs The Rise of Skywalker, has received mixed reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
The new movie, The Mandalorian and Grogu, arrives in theaters on May 22nd and continues the story from the Disney+ series. It follows Din Djarin (Mando), played by Pedro Pascal, and Grogu as they team up with the New Republic to hunt down dangerous Imperial leaders who are disrupting peace throughout the galaxy.
During their journey, the group encounters a helpful ally in Colonel Ward, played by Sigourney Weaver, and a dangerous new enemy named Rotta the Hutt, voiced by Jeremy Allen White.
Jon Favreau, who also created the show, directed the film, and he co-wrote the script with Dave Filoni, who is now a co-president at Lucasfilm.
Reviews for the film were released on Tuesday morning (May 19th). Currently, Rotten Tomatoes reports a 63% approval rating based on 68 reviews, suggesting the film has received generally mixed reactions from critics.

Our review of TopMob awarded it 3 stars. Critic Patrick Cremona described the film as an enjoyable adventure, though not as epic or impressive as the strongest movies in the series.
Although the movie has some enjoyable and heartwarming parts, it probably won’t be the film that brings Star Wars back to its former glory in theaters.

The film received mixed reviews, earning 3 stars from The Guardian, but only 2 stars from both The Independent and The Telegraph.
The film features a talented cast including Pascal, Weaver, White, Jonny Coyne, Dave Filoni, Steve Blum, and the renowned director Martin Scorsese.
Okay, so I was totally surprised to see this! Martin Scorsese โ the guy who directed classics like Goodfellas, Gangs of New York, Taxi Driver, and just recently Killers of the Flower Moon โ is in this new movie! Apparently, they revealed it in a trailer a few months ago, and he’s doing a voice role as an alien who runs a food truck. Seriously, a food truck! It’s wild and I can’t wait to see what that’s all about.
The Mandalorian and Grogu is coming to cinemas on 22 May.
