Forza Horizon 6 is XBOX’s Biggest Steam Launch in History

Following its standard release, Forza Horizon 6 quickly became incredibly popular on Steam, reaching over 273,000 players at the same time. This is more than double the peak number of players that Forza Horizon 5 had during its early access period.

This is a remarkable achievement, and it marks the biggest launch ever for an Xbox Game Studios title on Steam, surpassing even Halo Infinite, which reached 272,148 players. It’s important to note that Halo Infinite’s launch numbers were for its free-to-play multiplayer mode. The next most popular launch was Halo: The Master Chief Collection with 161,024 players, and Playground Games’ new game has far exceeded that number.

Currently, Forza Horizon 6 is only available on Steam. However, it’s also available on PC through the Microsoft Store and with Xbox Game Pass, so we anticipate a significant increase in players over the next few days, especially considering Xbox Series X/S owners. Early access has already attracted over one million players, as shown by the in-game leaderboards.
