Nickelodeon Animator Creates The Perfect Family Guy Crossover

Nickelodeon’s popular cartoon characters have occasionally crossed over in specials, games, and merchandise, but they rarely venture beyond their own shows. Now, the creator of a very successful Nickelodeon series is bringing his world back – and with a unique idea. He’s reimagined what would happen if his characters visited Quahog, Rhode Island, and met the family from Family Guy.

Butch Hartman, known for creating popular Nickelodeon shows like Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom, has found success with a recent YouTube video. He often shares stories about his career and also explores ideas for projects he’d like to create. In his latest video, Hartman imagined a matchup between characters from his shows and Family Guy. He revealed that he and Family Guy‘s creator, Seth MacFarlane, both worked on the Cartoon Network show Johnny Bravo. The video breaks down the potential crossover and Hartman shares his ideas for what a story combining these universes might look like.

The Fairly Odd Family Guy

Given their friendly relationship, Butch Hartman suggested a crossover between The Fairly OddParents and Family Guy might happen one day. Hartman, who created The Fairly OddParents, even mentioned he’s done voice work on Family Guy in the past. He explained the potential story: Stewie Griffin would become depressed and end up in Dimmsdale, the home of Timmy Turner and his fairy godparents. Upon discovering Cosmo and Wanda, Stewie would recognize their immense power and decide he wants them for himself. This leads him to team up with Mr. Crocker, a villain from Nickelodeon, to get rid of Timmy Turner. While Stewie and Timmy would be central to the story, Hartman also envisioned roles for other popular characters from both shows.

A crossover between The Fairly OddParents and Family Guy is possible, but the future of The Fairly OddParents is currently uncertain. After the second season of the Fairly OddParents: A New Wish revival, neither it nor the original series has been renewed. However, creator Butch Hartman continues to explore ideas for the series on his own channel. Meanwhile, Family Guy has already been renewed for multiple seasons, and a spin-off focusing on Stewie Griffin is also being developed at Fox to further expand the show’s universe.
