The second Mortal Kombat movie delivered intense fights, surprise comebacks, and plenty of popular characters, and despite the sequel making less money at the box office, a third film is reportedly in development. Many characters from the game haven’t appeared in the new movies yet, so we’re listing five who should definitely be included in the third installment.
5. Bo’ Rai Cho

Let’s talk about Bo’ Rai Cho, one of the most unique martial arts characters in Mortal Kombat. He first appeared in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and quickly stood out due to his incredible skills in the Drunken Fist fighting style.
Bo’ Rai Cho lives in Outworld and supports Earthrealm warriors in their fight against Shao Khan. He’s mainly a teacher, focusing on training others, but he occasionally joins the battle himself. Watching his unique Drunken Fist fighting style is always entertaining, and it would be great to see it showcased in a movie or on a larger scale – he’s a formidable opponent!
4. Kenshi

Fans hoped to see the character Kenshi in Mortal Kombat II, but he didn’t make an appearance. That makes Mortal Kombat III the ideal game to introduce him, and with the right design, he could become a standout character.
Kenshi first appeared in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and has been a recurring character in the games and Legacy web series ever since. Despite being blind, he’s a highly skilled fighter, able to compete with anyone thanks to his sword, Sento. This sword contains the spirits of past warriors who guide him during battles. Combined with his sharpened senses and impressive swordsmanship, Kenshi would be a fantastic addition to the third film.
3. Erron Black

Erron Black could be a fantastic addition to the third film, and like Kenshi, he’d significantly boost the excitement of any fight scenes. He’s a classic fighter who relies on guns, rifles, dynamite, and clever tactics to outmaneuver his opponents.
Black has a rich history that the movies haven’t fully explored yet. He’s lived for over 150 years and has connections to major characters like Shao Khan and Kotal Khan. Because he’s an immortal mercenary, it’s easy to weave him into different storylines, and hopefully the third film will give him the spotlight he deserves.
2. Kintaro

Goro appeared briefly in the first Mortal Kombat movie, and some fans were disappointed he was defeated by Cole Young. As the series continues, bringing back Sheeva for a third film would be a solid choice, but introducing the powerful Kintaro could also be a great way to surprise audiences.
As a long-time Mortal Kombat fan, I always found Kintaro to be a really tough boss – he first showed up in Mortal Kombat II and has consistently been a challenge ever since. He’s another Shokan warrior, like Goro and Sheeva, but his design is way more tiger-like, which makes sense because he’s not just incredibly strong, but also surprisingly fast and agile – quicker than either of those other two, honestly. And there’s a lot of potential in his story too, I always thought he’d have been a perfect main villain for a third movie adaptation.
1. Ermac

Ermac is a really interesting character in the Mortal Kombat series, but he hasn’t appeared in the new movies yet. That’s a bit unexpected, but he could easily be added in a potential Mortal Kombat II film, and he’d likely be a standout performer.
Ermac is a fascinating character with a compelling backstory and a diverse range of powers. He’s formed from the souls of those killed in Outworld and originally controlled by Shao Khan. While he eventually breaks free from Khan’s control, Ermac remains incredibly strong, capable of teleporting, moving objects with his mind, and launching energy blasts. He’s a powerful fighter who deserves to appear in the next movie, and hopefully will.
Mortal Kombat II is in theaters now.
