He’s become incredibly popular in gaming, and a legend in comics and animation. However, the huge success of the movies based on his story is still surprising, since most video game adaptations don’t do well. With each new film, fans eagerly speculate about which other characters might appear on screen.
As a huge Sonic fan, I was so excited to see Knuckles, Tails, Amy, and even Shadow finally show up! Those characters are essential to the Sonic universe. Now that we’ve got the core team together, I’m really hoping they keep adding more of our favorite characters from the games – there are still so many we’d love to see!
Big the Cat Feels Like a Must-Have Sonic Character
Big the Cat first appeared in Sonic Adventure and comes from the Mystic Ruins. While he’s the strong one on Team Rose, he’s very laid-back and gentle, unlike Knuckles. Big is a kind and easygoing character who prefers relaxing with his friend, Froggy, and going fishing to getting involved in conflicts or adventures.
I enjoy the Sonic movies because, beyond his speed and strength, he offers a welcome bit of lightheartedness amidst more intense characters. Plus, with Sonic the Hedgehog 4 presenting a more serious Amy Rose, it’s good to have a kind character like Sonic to balance her out.
Cream the Rabbit is an Adorable Addition to Team Sonic
I’ve always been so charmed by Cream the Rabbit! She first showed up in Sonic Advance 2, though she’s best known from Sonic Heroes. She’s Vanilla the Rabbit’s sweet daughter, and it’s just adorable how she can fly by flapping her ears – kind of like Tails with his tails! She’s also friends with the Chao, and she has a little buddy named Cheese who always goes with her. It’s wonderful seeing her join Sonic and the others on their adventures, and I know she really admires Amy – it’s a really cute dynamic!
After Sonic the Hedgehog 4 gave Amy Rose a stronger, more heroic role than she previously had, it seems natural that she’ll get her own sidekick, similar to how Tails supports Sonic – Cream fits that role perfectly. Amy has been a part of the series for a long time and deserves her own chance to be the focus.
Vector the Crocodile and Team Chaotix are Long Overdue
Vector the Crocodile debuted in the game Knuckles’ Chaotix as the head of a detective agency also called Chaotix. He’s a large crocodile who loves music, and you can always see him wearing headphones. Vector is incredibly kind-hearted, which is both his best quality and his biggest flaw—he often takes cases without charging, leaving him and his team with little money.
Vector is a key member of the group that deserves a spot in the Sonic movies. His team, Chaotix – consisting of Espio the Chameleon and Charmy Bee – are his best friends and strong allies to Sonic’s team. Including them in the films would expand the Sonic universe and add depth to its characters.
Silver the Hedgehog is an Incredibly Powerful Ally
Silver the Hedgehog comes from the future – two hundred years ahead, in fact! He frequently travels to the past to prevent disasters that threaten his time. Thanks to his powerful psychic abilities, Silver is one of the strongest characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, though his potential isn’t always fully shown.
There’s been talk that the next Sonic the Hedgehog game might involve time travel or exploring different dimensions, and that opens the door for Silver the Hedgehog to appear. Many fans would love to see him go head-to-head with Sonic and Shadow in a live-action movie. He’d also be a great addition to the team, offering a friendly contrast to Shadow’s serious nature and Sonic’s impulsive behavior.
Rouge the Bat is Shadow’s Partner in Crime
I first met Rouge the Bat in Sonic Adventure 2, and honestly, she’s the sneakiest character around! She’s a professional jewel thief and spy, which makes her a bit of a wildcard – you can never fully trust her. She mostly looks out for herself, but she’s not necessarily evil. Surprisingly, she’ll go above and beyond to help her friends, especially Shadow. In a way, she’s like the Team Shadow version of Tails, always providing support and intel.
Rouge the Bat would be a natural fit for the Sonic the Hedgehog movies. As a thief and spy constantly seeking the Chaos Emeralds, she could easily be woven into any storyline. Her self-serving personality would allow her to create interesting conflicts, challenging both the heroes and villains in unexpected ways.
