Embracer Group is splitting into two separate public companies: Fellowship Entertainment and a new Embracer Group. Fellowship Entertainment is expected to be listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm stock exchange in 2027. According to Embracer Group’s board, this change is designed to better manage and maximize the value of the company’s valuable game and entertainment properties.
Fellowship Entertainment will concentrate on creating, releasing, and licensing games, including titles from the Tomb Raider and The Lord of the Rings franchises, as well as other popular series. As of March 31, 2026, the company employs 2,169 people. Meanwhile, Embracer Group plans to simplify its operations, focusing on reducing costs and managing its finances more carefully.
Embracer Group is restructuring to allow each of its businesses to thrive with clearer leadership and responsibility, according to board chair Lars Wingefors. He expressed strong confidence in the future growth of Fellowship Entertainment and believes a more focused Embracer Group will benefit from its existing projects and potential acquisitions. As a major shareholder and chair, Wingefors is dedicated to supporting the long-term success and value creation of both companies after this change.
Embracer Group CEO Phil Rogers restated the company’s aim to simplify how it’s managed and ensure both of its main businesses thrive. He emphasized a need for a clear and effective organizational structure to help achieve this.
We’re focused on creating a more streamlined company with two separate businesses. Each business will have clear goals and a structure that makes it easy to see how things are progressing and get things done. I believe this approach will ultimately benefit everyone involved – our fans, our teams, our creative properties, and our investors.
Several game development studios – including 4A Games, Crystal Dynamics, and Tomb Raider’s Eidos-Montréal – are now part of a new company called Fellowship Entertainment. This company will also combine the publishing strengths of PLAION and its related teams. Fellowship Entertainment owns popular game franchises like Darksiders, Dead Island, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Metro, Remnant, titles based on The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and Tomb Raider, among others.
Embracer Group owns a large number of gaming and entertainment companies, including Aspyr, Beamdog, CrazyLabs, Deca, Demiurge, DPI Merchandising, Limited Run Games, Milestone, PLAION Partners, PLAION Pictures, THQ Nordic (which itself includes 35 studios and related businesses), Tripwire, and Vertigo Games.
Embracer Group’s leadership will mostly stay the same for now. Rogers and Lee Guinchard will continue in their current positions, but once Fellowship Entertainment becomes a separate company, they’ll become its CEO and COO, with Müge Bouillon joining as CFO. Embracer Group is now searching for a new CEO and CFO to lead the main company.
