As a huge fan of spy thrillers, I was really excited for The Agency when it came out in December 2024. It’s a remake of The Bureau, which is a fantastic French series – seriously, five seasons of brilliant espionage! Michael Fassbender plays Brandon Colby, an undercover CIA operative known as ‘Martian,’ and the show starts with him being called back to London after six years working in Africa. It’s a compelling setup, and I was immediately hooked.

Over the course of six years, Colby falls in love with Dr. Sami Zahir, a woman from Sudan (played by Jodie Turner-Smith). When Sami unexpectedly comes to London, Colby is forced to choose between his normal life and his secret life as a spy. This choice sets off a chain of events that plunges both Colby and Sami into a dangerous world of international intrigue.

This series is captivating, although it unfolds at a deliberate pace. Michael Fassbender delivers a standout performance as part of a fantastic cast. The show was quickly renewed for a second season after its first run, and the new trailer suggests it will be even more compelling than before.

How The Agency Season 2 Looks Like It Will Improve On The Show

The trailer for season 2 of The Agency is out, and it looks like this season will be full of more action and excitement than the first. The previous season ended with Martian being welcomed back as a hero, but he’s now secretly working as a double agent after being blackmailed by Jim Richardson (Hugh Bonneville), a powerful MI6 official involved in a hidden, unauthorized operation.

Martian’s past actions and choices are now causing major problems for him this season. The biggest issue with the first season of The Agency was its slow pace. The show focused so much on the small details of spying and developing its characters that the main story often felt stalled.

Season two of The Agency is more confident and allows the story to unfold naturally, without constantly explaining everything. Now that we know the identity and motivations of Martian, the show can fully immerse us in its exciting and treacherous world.

When The Agency Season 2 Is Coming Out

Shortly after the first season of The Agency came out, a second season was announced. However, details were scarce until mid-May, when it was revealed that all episodes of season 2 would be released on Paramount+ on June 21, 2026.

The second season of The Agency will feature most of the original actors, plus exciting new additions like Clayne Crawford as Viking, Medalion Rahimi as Darya, Raza Jaffrey as Craig, and Tessa Ferrer as Robyn. It looks like Season 2 will significantly expand on the show’s storyline.
