If this leaked footage of Virtua Fighter is genuine, and everything suggests it is, then we could be seeing a truly next-generation fighting game.
The new gameplay video, called Virtua Fighter Crossroads, showcases over a minute and a half of action. It features several characters, including Stella – who closely resembles the classic character Sarah – and Wolf. The video also appears to include Pai.
The video shows interviews with developers from RGG Studio, suggesting it’s a preview of an upcoming behind-the-scenes feature that will likely be released soon.
The animation is remarkably good, even with the lower resolution. The characters move incredibly smoothly, giving it a really modern look. We especially appreciate the detailed animations during finishing moves.
The game doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, and the developers at RGG Studio haven’t given a specific timeframe. However, it seems to be progressing well, and we likely will get more details later this year.
