After seven seasons, the hit show The Boys has concluded, but the world it created isn’t going anywhere. Similar to Marvel and DC, the show has become a full-fledged franchise since it first premiered in 2019. We’ve already seen two spin-offs – the animated series The Boys Presents: Diabolical and the college drama Gen V – both of which have finished their runs. And even though the main Boys series is over, more content is planned for Prime Video’s Vought Cinematic Universe. (Be aware: the following contains spoilers for the series finale.)
I was really glad the finale of The Boys didn’t feel like it was just setting things up for more shows – it actually finished the story for the characters we’ve been following. Now that Homelander and Butcher are gone, and it doesn’t look like Hughie or Starlight will be back anytime soon, I am starting to wonder what’s next. We already know there are two spin-offs coming, and honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if they announced even more down the line.
Vought Rising

The upcoming series, Vought Rising, will explore the history of Vought International, starting in the 1950s, and reveal how the first generation of Supes came to be. It’s being described as a dark and complex murder mystery, starring Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, alongside other characters we recognize. Aya Cash will return as Stormfront, the Supe with ties to Nazi ideology, and Ethan Slater will reprise his role as Thomas Godolkin, the creator of Compound V and founder of God U, continuing the story from Season 2 of Gen V.
Though the finale of The Boys didn’t directly connect to the upcoming prequel, Season 5 laid the groundwork for Vought Rising by introducing or referencing several important characters from Vought’s history. These include Quinn, who has a past with Soldier Boy, and Bombsight, played by Mason Dye, who will return. Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel and Will Hochman as Torpedo have also been confirmed to appear. There’s also a possibility of seeing what happens after the events of The Boys, potentially with Soldier Boy making an appearance – he’s still alive, just in cryo-freeze. Vought Rising is scheduled to debut on Prime Video in 2027.
The Boys: Mexico

Another confirmed spin-off is The Boys: Mexico. Announced in 2023, not much is known about the show except that it will take place in Mexico, which is a fresh setting since most of the stories we’ve seen have been based in the United States. The series is being developed by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, the writer of Blue Beetle, and features Diego Luna (Andor) and Gael García Bernal (Werewolf by Night) as executive producers, with the possibility of them appearing in smaller roles as well.
Eric Kripke Has Teased More The Boys Spinoffs

Although two spin-offs are currently planned, more could be on the way. In an interview with ComicBook, showrunner Eric Kripke expressed his desire to continue the story of Gen V, believing there’s potential for the characters to further develop into complete heroes and that they haven’t fully explored all possibilities.
He also mentioned they’re exploring other potential spinoff shows, but there’s no certainty any of them will move forward.
Some of the main writers from The Boys and Vought Rising are developing new project ideas they’re excited about. We’re only going to move forward with these if they’re distinct from The Boys, and if someone genuinely loves the concept – not just if it seems like a guaranteed money-maker. It needs to be unique and a little unusual, something someone is truly passionate about, because that makes all the difference.
All five seasons of The Boys are streaming on Prime Video.
