Love Island USA’s Huda Mustafa, Louis Russell Break Up After 9 Months

This sadly wasn’t the perfect match.

Huda Mustafa from Love Island USA and Louis Russell from Too Hot To Handle have ended their relationship after dating for almost nine months.

In a statement to TMZ on May 20th, the former couple announced they’ve decided to separate for now, after careful consideration of what’s best for each of them.

Huda, who shares 5-year-old Arleigh with her ex, Noah Sheline, is focusing on raising her daughter, pursuing her music, and exploring new opportunities.

Louis, who shares 12-month-old Luka-Kai with his ex-partner, Nicole Olivera, is currently prioritizing being a good father and working on his personal and professional goals.

Although they’ve ended their romantic relationship, the pair shared that they are still friends and have a lot of love and respect for each other. They’ve asked for privacy as they move forward with their lives.

Huda and Louis first started dating in July 2025, soon after Huda finished on the show Love Island USA. Recently, however, they’ve faced some difficulties. Louis’s former partner filed a temporary restraining order against Huda in March, claiming Huda had made frightening and disturbing threats towards her and her child, Luka-Kai, as reported by People magazine.

The Love Island USA star addressed the rumors on Instagram, saying they weren’t true and that she was letting her lawyers deal with the situation. She thanked her supporters for their continued kindness.

The contestant from Perfect Match, who had been fighting with Nicole over custody of their child but dropped the case on April 28th, previously shared on Instagram on March 18th, according to People magazine, that his biggest wish is to be a good father and that’s a core part of who he is.

Even though this chapter of Huda’s journey is wrapping up, she’s already looking ahead! She’s announced that her first song will be released on May 22nd.

In an Instagram post shared on May 19, she wrote in the caption, “it’s time…”

Oh my god, remember the season four Islanders? They seemed SO perfect leaving the villa back in 2018, but honestly, it was heartbreaking to watch their relationship just…die after they got back home from Mallorca. They’ve totally moved on now, which is just…ugh. Still stings, though!

In July 2025, Ellie revealed she was engaged to her boyfriend, though she hasn’t shared his name with the public. The announcement came a year after they first went public with their relationship.

I remember when Uma and Wil first connected – it was on Love Island UK, season 11! It was so frustrating to watch, because Uma actually left the island with Wil after he got dumped. But the whole thing was complicated because Reuben Collins had chosen her beforehand, which led to everything happening. I was totally invested in their journey from the start!

In July 2025, a year after first becoming a couple, Uma revealed she and Wil were getting married. She shared the news on Instagram, posting a picture of her engagement ring with the caption, “We’ve been keeping a secret!”

For the reality star, staying on Love Island after Wil’s exit didn’t seem like an option.

She stated on the Not My Bagg podcast that her decision was immediate and effortless. “I just knew I wanted to be with Wil,” she explained.

She told Lisa and Joe Baggs that she’s started seeing someone new. It took her a long time to feel as comfortable with this person as she did with her ex, Wil. With only two weeks remaining in her previous commitment, she didn’t want to pretend to feel something she didn’t. She preferred to be truthful about her feelings.

Rumors of a split between Amaya and Bryan began circulating when they unfollowed each other on Instagram just before the season seven reunion aired in August 2025. Sadly, Amaya, who often refers to herself as a ‘sensitive gangster,’ confirmed the breakup two days later.

She explained on Instagram that after leaving the villa, it was obvious she and her partner were heading in different directions. She felt their goals didn’t match and that a relationship should be a partnership, adding that you don’t need to experience everything firsthand to understand something isn’t right.

Olandria and Nic were the only couple who were together from the very beginning and made it to the final round. Throughout the show, they kept viewers guessing as they explored other potential connections and weren’t always sure if they should be just friends or a couple.

Olandria explained in the finale, “I believe a strong relationship starts with friendship – getting to know someone without pressure or expectations.” She realized that sometimes the person who has been there for you all along is the one you’re meant to be with.

The runners-up wondered if they were meant to be together from the start.

Nic added, “What was special about our relationship was that we didn’t notice the signs right away. We both started out interested in other people, but I always had feelings for you. We faced unexpected challenges and were even briefly removed from the show. When you came to say goodbye as I left, it felt like a sign that we were meant to be. We finally had the chance to connect and build a relationship we didn’t realize was possible.”

Now, everyone’s wondering what the future holds for Nic and Olandria!

Nic shared at the reunion that they and their partner prefer to move at their own pace and don’t feel rushed by external expectations. They’re enjoying spending time together, including trips and have more dates in the works.

Though Iris and Pepe connected romantically late in the season, they felt this allowed them to build a strong foundation of friendship first. During the finale, Iris shared how her Love Island experience was amazing, starting with Pepe as a close friend and now evolving into something she’s excited to explore outside of the show. The couple, who finished in fourth place, confirmed they were exclusively dating at the reunion. However, rumors of a split circulated beforehand when fans noticed they had unfollowed each other on Instagram.

He confirmed their breakup on Aug. 28.

Among Kordell and Serena’s many long-term goals? Sticking together.

And the Love Island USA season six winners are still very much in love.

Serena shared a sweet birthday message for Kordell on Instagram in May 2025, writing, ‘Happy birthday to the man of my dreams!’ She confessed she’s still completely in love with him after nearly a year together. Serena expressed how proud she is to watch Kordell achieve his goals and become the person he’s meant to be, and she’s excited to celebrate many more birthdays with him. She thanked him for being an amazing boyfriend, partner, and friend, and for bringing so much happiness to her life.

Season six of Love Island USA also saw success with runners-up Leah and Miguel, who are still together. According to Miguel, things are only improving for the couple, and Leah feels the same way.

Leah celebrated Miguel’s birthday in March 2025 with a sweet Instagram post, writing that he feels like a warm, constant source of happiness. She expressed deep gratitude for his presence in her life, saying he’s brought her only love, peace, and joy. She playfully noted that he makes even the most mundane things fun and that she never thought someone like him existed – someone with such a pure and kind heart, always wanting the best for others.

JaNa and Kenny finished third on Love Island USA season six in 2024, but they split up in July 2025 after dating for about a year, according to TopMob News.

The news came as a shock to fans, who adored their sweet tributes to one another online.

He shared a sweet birthday message for her on Instagram in December 2024, calling her his “Pookie Bear,” “Love,” “Heart,” and “Nay Nay.” He expressed how grateful he was to have supported her over the past few months as she pursued her goals.

He went on to say that her smile brightened every place she went. Even when all eyes were on her, she always made people feel special and cared for. He thought she was equally beautiful inside and out, which was why he often found himself lost in admiration. He felt incredibly fortunate to have her in his life.

Okay, so I’ve already started planning for Kenny’s birthday next February – it has to be perfect! I’m getting a custom message engraved, and I think I’ve finally landed on the right words. It’s going to say, ‘You’re not just my best friend, you’re my safe place. I love doing life with you. Your love gives me the courage to be myself around you, and for that, I’m forever thankful.’ Seriously, it just perfectly captures how I feel about him. I’ve been working on it for weeks!

Josh and Sophie had both been on Love Island before – Josh finished third with Lauren Richardson in 2015, and Sophie joined the show five years later. They found success when they returned for Love Island: All Stars in 2024, placing third again.

Oh my gosh, she posted! It was February, and she wrote ‘Just the beginning!’ Seriously, my heart melted. And then she thanked everyone for their support, saying it ‘means the world’ to them. It’s just… everything. Knowing they appreciate us fans is everything, and it feels like this is only the start of something amazing!

And she was correct that it was only the start of their forever journey.

Josh celebrated his first anniversary in March 2025 with a sweet Instagram post. He jokingly wrote that he wasn’t sure how his partner had tolerated him for so long, and playfully warned them that there would be many more years of the same! He finished by saying he loved them.

The winners of the seventh season of Love Island UK, which aired in 2021, continued their relationship after leaving the show in August. Their commitment was famously tested when new singles were introduced during the ‘Casa Amor’ portion of the season.

Millie and Liam announced they were splitting up on social media in July 2022, but they got back together nearly a year later. Now, they share updates about their lives—including trips, fitness routines, and dates—on both social media and their podcast, which is also named after them.

The couple first connected on season two of Love Island USA in the summer of 2020, but they revealed they had split up the next January.

The first season of Love Island USA brought together a couple who stayed together from day one, but they ended their relationship in late 2019. Zac announced the split on Instagram, explaining it was a mutual decision and they both wanted different things in life, but remained friendly.

Elizabeth said she was disappointed things didn’t work out as she’d hoped, but acknowledged that life doesn’t always go as planned.

However, she found love again—getting engaged to Gianni Settino in December 2024.

In a July 2024 Instagram post, she jokingly announced to viewers of Love Island USA that she’s found love – five years after the show originally aired.

Ugh, I was so invested in Alex and Kyra from the first season of Love Island USA, and I was absolutely crushed when they broke up! It was in late November 2019, and they both posted about it on their Instagram Stories. Kyra, my girl, basically said that things just didn’t work out with Alex, and honestly, it broke my heart. She’s such a strong person, but even she admitted sometimes things just don’t click, even if you want them to!

Alex acknowledged that going through heartbreak is difficult. They described their relationship as a beautiful, storybook romance, but admitted that not all relationships last.

As a lifestyle expert, I always follow what happens with popular couples, and I was keeping an eye on fan favorites from Love Island USA. While they didn’t take home the win, they definitely gave long distance a shot, making an effort to see each other over the holidays. Sadly, it didn’t last. Caro shared in a YouTube video back in July 2020 that she was the one who ended things. She explained she felt a disconnect in commitment levels, and ultimately, she needed to prioritize her own needs and move on. It’s tough when you realize you’re not on the same page as someone you care about!

In October 2023, Caro surprised everyone by announcing she had secretly married Rene Lacad the previous month. Then, in December, she shared the wonderful news that they were expecting a daughter. Baby Amina arrived in April 2024.

In a Mother’s Day 2025 Instagram post, she expressed her gratitude to Amina, writing, ‘Thank you for letting me be your mom—it’s the best thing ever.’

One of the biggest surprises on the U.S. version of the show was Kyra’s decision to leave in hopes of rekindling a connection with Cashel, even after she’d initially sent him home. However, she discovered he had already come back, but sadly, the couple broke up in October 2019.

Kyra and Cashel briefly got back together by late November, but they ultimately broke up for good in February 2020.

He mentioned on the NoFilter podcast that things didn’t work out. He believes they’re at different stages in their lives now, and he suspects she’s blocked his number.

Kyra also appeared on several reality shows, including Match Me If You Can in 2021, The Challenge: USA in 2022 (where she competed alongside Cashel), and Love Island Games in 2023. However, she ultimately found love outside of television with Tal Sahar, a dental student and former basketball player, in 2024.

Court records show Cashel was arrested in Utah in May 2025 for domestic violence and assault. He then faced additional charges of assault and domestic violence the next month.

Cashel has denied the accusations, according to NBC News. His lawyer, Andrew K. Deesing, stated that Cashel and his family are going through a very challenging period and request privacy while they work to clear his name. Deesing added that it’s too early in the process to provide further details.

Even though many people—both on the show and across the country—doubted their relationship would last, Weston and Emily from the first season of the USA version of the show did try dating in real life for a while before eventually splitting up.

She confirmed in a May 2020 YouTube video that she and Weston had broken up. “I’m single now,” she said, explaining that their relationship had been difficult, particularly due to the distance while she was in college. She described it as a challenging experience with many ups and downs.

The winning couple from season 10 of Love Island UK broke up just two months after leaving the show, in October 2023.

According to Sammy, the breakup came as a “total shock.”

He explained in an Instagram Story that they’d had a personal discussion, but it hadn’t been fully resolved because Jess was traveling and they hadn’t been able to talk face-to-face. He wanted to make it clear that he’d hoped they could work things out and believed addressing the situation directly was the right thing to do.

Even though things didn’t go as planned today, Sammy said he thinks Jess is a wonderful person and truly hopes she finds happiness.

I was so excited to see Sammy on Love Island: All Stars earlier this year, and I really thought he and Elma Pazar were a great match! But sadly, things started to look shaky between them in June, and rumors began circulating that they’d broken up.

The first-ever winter edition of Love Island saw its winning couple connect right away, and they managed to stay together even with all the challenges the show threw their way.

They moved in together in 2020, but called it quits three years later.

As a bit of a relationship expert, I’ve seen this happen so many times! Paige and Finley, who everyone fell in love with on Love Island, are still friends, but she shared with us back in June 2023 that they simply grew apart. Life happens, right? Fast forward to August 2024, and Finley seemed to have moved on, hinting at a new relationship on Instagram. For a while, he kept things pretty private, but The Sun confirmed in June 2025 that he’s now dating Jess Hale. It’s lovely to see everyone finding happiness!

Winter Love Island‘s 2020 runner-ups Siânnise and Luke found love in the villa and went on to date for about a year before breaking up in November 2021.

However, he’s since found love again and got engaged to Chelsea Menna less than a year later in 2022.

The contestant earned widespread negative attention in the U.K. after choosing Molly over Shaughna Phillips while at Casa Amor. Viewers ultimately voted both him and Molly off the show.

Although they were together for three years after leaving the island, they split up in 2023.

The next year, both Molly and Callum appeared on Love Island: All Stars. Molly paired up with Tom Clare and they won the season. Callum found love with Jess Gale, and they came in second place. Though Callum and Jess broke up later in 2024 and he is now dating Yasmin Deplidge, Molly and Tom are still together.

Nas began season six as a popular contestant, but he lost fans’ support after ending his relationship with Demi Jones to pursue Eva following Casa Amor.

Despite being eliminated from the show, Nas and Eva continued their relationship and officially became a couple in July 2020.

After rumors began circulating in August 2023 that Eva and Nas were engaged – sparked by a ring she was seen wearing – Nas confirmed in March 2024 that they had broken up.

I’m sharing some personal news today. Eva and I have decided to go our separate ways. It wasn’t an easy decision, of course, but I want to be clear – we ended things on really good terms. There’s absolutely no drama or negativity, it was a completely mutual and friendly parting. We both felt it was the right thing to do, and we’re both at peace with it.

We spent the last few months trying to resolve our differences, but ultimately decided it was best to go our separate ways, and we’re both okay with that.

Nas went on to appear on Love Island: All Stars in early 2025, but ultimately left the villas solo.

A surprising couple who formed during the winter season finished in third place, but they broke up a few months after the show ended.

Demi explained to MailOnline in June 2020 that she and her partner had ended their relationship. While she felt the split originated more from his side, they parted on good terms. She said the distance between them, combined with the restrictions of lockdown, created a strain, and a lack of communication ultimately led them to grow apart.

Luke and Lucie Donlan from season five of Love Island started dating in July 2020 and got engaged in 2021.

Demi was a contestant on the 2024 season of Love Island: All Stars, where she connected with Luis Morrison. Unfortunately, their relationship didn’t last and they split up later in the year.

The couple who finished fourth on season six continued dating for a few months, but they split up in June 2020.

Jess announced on Instagram that she and Ched have separated, but remain friends and wish each other well. She also thanked everyone for their support since leaving the show.

Honestly, it always gets me when a winning couple doesn’t last! It’s happened again – the season five winners, Greg and his partner, split up just weeks after taking home the crown. It’s extra disappointing because Greg was a late arrival to the villa, and they seemed so solid after connecting so quickly right before the finale. You really root for these guys, and it’s a reminder that reality TV romances can be…well, complicated!

Okay, so it’s been a bit messy, honestly. There was all this stuff going around about how Greg actually texted me to end things – a rugby player, based all the way in Ireland! Can you believe it? Anyway, I was on Loose Women and I tried to explain it. I guess it always felt like our busy careers and being so far apart would be tough, we knew that going in. I really don’t get what shifted, I honestly wanted us to figure it out, but… well, it is what it is, you know? It just didn’t work out.

Greg explained on RTE’s The Late Late Show that she lives in the UK and is in high demand, with many brands and events wanting to work with her. He added that he chose to return to Ireland and focus on his own work there.

However, he found a new connection and kicked off 2025 by proposing to his love Jeanni Mulder.

Their relationship began with a lot of excitement, and the Instagram star and boxer quickly became the most stable couple on season five of the show. That’s why everyone was so shocked when they didn’t win!

Molly-Mae and her partner announced their engagement in July 2024, just six months after welcoming their daughter, Bambi. However, she surprised everyone by revealing their breakup the very next month, in August.

I’m heartbroken to share that Tommy and I have decided to end our relationship. I’ll always cherish the most important thing in my life – our wonderful daughter. She’s my top priority, and we both love her very much.

In May 2025, during an episode of her Amazon Prime show Molly-Mae: Behind It All, she shared that she and Tommy were trying to make their relationship work again.

This couple was one of the most talked-about pairs from season five, facing plenty of challenges. Despite finishing in fourth place, they surprised many by continuing their relationship after leaving the show in 2019.

Maura shared the secrets to her successful relationship on UK’s This Morning: trust each other, be skeptical of what you read in the media, and most importantly, stay humble. ‘You just need to stay grounded,’ she explained.

However, the pair broke up in March 2020.

Maura announced on Instagram that she and Curtis have decided to go their separate ways. She shared that they had a wonderful time together on the show and appreciated all the support they received. Despite this breakup, Curtis continued to appear on spin-off shows of Love Island, including Love Island: Games and Love Island: All Stars. On All Stars, he and Ekin-Su finished in third place, but they also ended their relationship a few months later.

Ekin-Su announced on Instagram in May 2025 that she and Curtis have broken up, according to People. She explained it was a difficult decision made with a lot of love and respect for each other. She described Curtis as a wonderful person and said she would always treasure their memories together, both during and after their time on the show.

Almost a year after winning Love Island season eight in 2022, Davide announced that he and Ekin-Su had broken up.

In June 2023, he announced on Instagram that he and Ekin-Su are no longer a couple. He expressed gratitude for their shared experiences and wished her well, asking for privacy and respect during this challenging time. He also stated he will continue to support Ekin-Su in any way he can.

Not long after, the pair rekindled their romance. However, they ended up calling it quits again.

In a recent Instagram post, Ekin-Su shared that she and Davide have decided to end their 18-month relationship. According to screenshots from Cosmopolitan UK, she explained that while they both wanted to make things work and deeply cared for each other, they’ve come to the difficult conclusion to go their separate ways. She acknowledged that breakups are never easy for anyone and asked for privacy during this time, while also expressing gratitude for the happy memories they shared.

Both Davide and Ekin-Su found love again after their time on reality TV. In the summer of 2024, Davide started a relationship with Iris Au. Ekin-Su briefly dated Curtis after they finished third on Love Island: All Stars in early 2025, but they broke up a few months later.

Although Ovie arrived during the Casa Amor episodes and India joined even later in the season, they quickly became a fan favorite couple and made it to the final three on Love Island season five in 2019.

However, the professional basketball player and the model quietly parted ways later that year.

It’s definitely been hard, but all breakups are, really,” she said to the MailOnline. “It’s even tougher when everyone is watching, but I’m going to be okay. I feel lucky to have such supportive friends who are taking good care of me.”

In early 2025, India appeared on Love Island: All Stars but left the show single.

Lucie and Joe connected right away at the start of season five. However, after Joe was eliminated from the show, Lucie dated several other contestants and even confessed strong feelings for someone who was already in a relationship. That’s why fans were so surprised when they announced they were dating after the season finished.

Similar to their first relationship, the surfer and sandwich maker’s second try at love didn’t last, and they broke up in early December 2019.

Lucie is currently engaged to Luke from season six, but Joe, who pursued her on All Stars in 2024, appears to be happily single.

Anton and Belle were the second couple from season five to break up after leaving the villa, but they stayed friends. However, Anton made it clear they wouldn’t get back together romantically.

“It’s definitely not a romantic relationship,” the creator of the fitness app told Mail Online. “We’re good friends now, and it would feel like dating a sibling. It’s just not that kind of connection anymore.”

Anton competed on Love Island: All Stars in 2024, finishing in fifth place with Georgia Harrison, but their relationship didn’t last long and they broke up shortly after.
