Cartoon Network is increasingly relying on revivals of popular shows, as evidenced by the success of series like Regular Show: The Lost Tapes and Adventure Time: Side Quests. Fans are eager to see even more classic characters return, and it seems another one might be on the way. A former Cartoon Network animator recently shared that they had ideas for bringing back a well-known character, though they faced some obstacles. Given the current trend of revivals, this animated feline chef could be making a comeback.
C.H. Greenblatt, the creator of the Cartoon Network show Chowder, shared details about a planned reboot aimed at younger viewers. He pitched an idea called Chowder: First Course, which reimagined the series with Chowder, Panini, and Gorgonzola attending culinary school instead of working at a catering company. The other characters would have been teachers. Unfortunately, Cartoon Network decided not to move forward with the project due to budget constraints. Greenblatt has shared some of the concept art he created for the reboot.
Greenblatt Talks Chowder

Last year, we at egmr.ru spoke with the creator of Chowder about the potential for bringing the show back. He explained that if he were to revive the series, it wouldn’t be a simple continuation. He believes any new version would need to evolve or be slightly different to reflect that the original audience has grown up and to justify its existence as something fresh, rather than just more of the same.
I absolutely adore young Chowder! It was such a joy to revisit him, and I was thrilled we could even bring him back briefly for that big Jellystone crossover episode. I think there’s something really special about seeing him as a kid – that innocence and eagerness to learn about the world is just so charming. I genuinely still love those early versions of the character. And speaking of Jellystone, it was a blast being part of creating that crazy Hanna-Barbera mashup series, even though it wrapped up after three seasons last year.
