Johnny Depp is officially reuniting with a Pirates of the Caribbean co-star.
Johnny Depp will soon be starring in a new crime thriller produced by Lionsgate, scheduled for release next year. While he’s widely recognized for his popular role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean films, Depp has often played complex and even villainous characters throughout his career. This includes portrayals of real-life criminals like Whitey Bulger in Black Mass and the infamous serial killer in Sweeney Todd. His upcoming film promises a similar, yet distinct, experience for audiences.
Johnny Depp will star alongside Madelyn Cline and Penélope Cruz in the upcoming film Day Drinker, a supernatural action thriller from Lionsgate. The story centers on Cline, a bartender working on a yacht, whose life is turned upside down when she meets a mysterious passenger played by Depp. She soon finds herself caught up in a dangerous world involving a criminal, portrayed by Cruz, and discovers surprising connections between all three characters. Day Drinker is set to hit theaters on March 26, 2027.
