Tom Hardy tipped to exit MobLand after season 2

Tom Hardy has left the Paramount+ series MobLand after filming for the second season was completed.

According to Variety, the British actor won’t be back for the third season of the popular crime drama, reportedly due to disagreements during production.

I’m so excited about MobLand! It premiered in March 2025, and the cast is incredible – Pierce Brosnan, Dame Helen Mirren, Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, and of course, Hardy, all star in it. I can’t wait to see them all together!

Season two of the show has finished filming and will likely be released later this year. Plans for season three are underway, but Tom Hardy is not expected to return.

TopMob has approached Paramount+ and Tom Hardy’s representatives for comment.

The new series, from Guy Ritchie – the mind behind The Gentlemen – centers on a feud between two families: the Irish Harrigans and the Stevensons.

The popular crime drama has been renewed for another season. It quickly became one of the streamer’s biggest hits, ranking as the second most-watched show and reaching 26 million viewers by June 2025.

Although the series was full of action and enjoyed by many viewers, some criticized Pierce Brosnan’s attempt at a Kerry accent for his character, Conrad Harrigan. In an interview with TopMob magazine, Brosnan addressed the criticism, explaining that his natural accent is quite subtle, and Conrad’s accent was drastically different from his own.

So, I was reading that Tom Hardy’s planning to take a break after he wraps up ‘MobLand’. Apparently, he’s been dealing with some health stuff, and just needs to rest and recover after the shoot – totally understandable, the guy’s a machine!

“It’s all falling to bits now, and it’s not going to get better,” he told Esquire UK.

How season three of MobLand could be navigated without Tom Hardy remains to be seen.
