When people think of DC Comics heroes, the Justice League usually comes to mind. While the Justice Society existed earlier and the Teen Titans are very popular – especially with the success of Teen Titans GO! – the Justice League is considered the main DC team. Over time, nearly every important hero has been a part of it. Currently, the League includes practically every hero on Earth, functioning as a massive roster of backup members. Some of these heroes have earned their place after a long wait, but others probably shouldn’t be on the team.
Not every hero is suited for the Justice League. While some are powerful and dedicated to doing good, they simply don’t quite fit the team’s dynamic or needs. These seven DC heroes, for various reasons, wouldn’t thrive as members of the League’s core group.
7) Damian Wayne

Damian Wayne has the potential to be a great Robin and, as Batman’s son, likely has a future with the Justice League. However, he’s probably not ready for it, and it’s not just because of his training to be an assassin. While raised by the al Ghuls to kill, Damian’s biggest problem is his stubbornness and desire to control everything. He struggles to work as part of a team and often clashes with others – he actually makes Batman seem easy to get along with! Until Damian can set aside his ego and learn to collaborate, it’s better if he doesn’t join the League. Hopefully, he’ll mature and improve over time.
6) B’Wana Beast

Let’s be honest, B’Wana Beast isn’t a good fit for the Justice League, and it’s not just because he’s underwhelming. He gained superpowers from a potion, giving him enhanced strength and the ability to combine animals into hybrid creatures. However, his powers are rarely helpful – they only really work in a jungle, and even then, they just create a strong, enraged animal. While there have been less effective heroes, it’s difficult to think of one right now. Simply put, he doesn’t contribute anything useful to any Justice League mission.
5) Ravager

Rose Wilson, also known as Ravager, is the daughter of the villain Deathstroke. Though initially trained by him to battle the Teen Titans, she eventually recognized his cruelty and defected, becoming a capable anti-hero. While she possesses the skills needed to join the Justice League, her complicated relationship with her father remains a major concern. Rose has repeatedly proven susceptible to his manipulation, and allowing her on the team could provide Deathstroke with a dangerous opportunity to exploit her and infiltrate the League.
4) Beast Boy

Beast Boy is a fantastic member of the Teen Titans. He started as a somewhat spoiled and attention-seeking shapeshifter, but through many challenges, he always maintained his positive attitude. While he’s certainly capable of handling tough situations, he’s still a little too immature and loves showing off, making him unreliable for high-stakes missions with the Justice League. The Titans know how to effectively use his skills, but with the League, he’d likely be a frustrating distraction – and they already have enough of those.
3) The Phantom Stranger

The Phantom Stranger is a mysterious figure who always seems to appear when trouble is brewing. He warns people about danger, then mostly observes what happens. While incredibly powerful and well-regarded among magic users, he rarely takes direct action. His purpose isn’t to fight evil himself, but to gather and guide those who do. He’s a helpful ally, but not someone the League needs as a constant member.
2) Wild Dog

Wild Dog is a relatively unknown DC hero, largely unfamiliar to most fans. He debuted in the 1980s as DC attempted to attract readers of Marvel’s Punisher. A former Marine, he began his crusade against crime in the Quad Cities after a personal tragedy – an attack on his sister – and has been taking down criminals with lethal force ever since. As a vigilante who uses deadly weapons, he wouldn’t likely be accepted into the Justice League, who would probably find a way to dismiss his application due to his tendency to kill his enemies.
1) Red Hood

Jason Todd is often considered the rebellious member of the Bat-Family. As Robin, he was known for being outspoken and quick to anger, and tragically, the Joker exploited that temper. Though he came back to life, his path wasn’t easy – he initially sought revenge before eventually finding his way back to the Bat-Family, where his fiery personality remained. Jason is a capable fighter and a hero in his own right, but he’s probably not suited for the Justice League. He’s always struggled with following orders and tends to use excessive force against criminals. He’d need to significantly change his approach to even be considered for membership.
