The Easiest Places To Grind In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

These games stand out as some of the most ambitious in the series, featuring a vast open world with over a dozen distinct areas and compelling stories. This expanded scope gives players greater freedom in building and training their Pokémon teams. The Paldea region is teeming with wild Pokémon in every area, providing plenty of opportunities to battle, gain experience, and collect resources.

In addition to over a hundred new Pokémon, Scarlet and Violet added new ways to level up, like the picnic feature. The game also makes it easier to gain experience and gather materials compared to previous installments, as long as players know where to look.

South Province Area 5 Is Home to Diverse Pokémon

The latest Pokémon games, Scarlet and Violet, offer a new open-world experience that lets players explore more freely. While you don’t need to focus on leveling up Pokémon right away, areas like South Province Area Five provide opportunities to gain experience points early in the game. Wild Pokémon in this area typically range from levels 16 to 23, not including rarer encounters.

South Province Area Five offers a wide variety of environments, from different terrains to ecosystems. This creates a great place for trainers to gain experience, as many different types of wild Pokémon – including Normal, Flying, Electric, Rock, Poison, and Water – can be found. This ensures there are always Pokémon matchups where trainers can have an advantage in battle.

Tagtree Thicket’s Wild Pokémon Suit Players Mid-Game

Tagtree Thicket is a forested area in the Paldea region that’s ideal for training Pokémon around levels 25 to 32. You can find it in the eastern part of the map, right next to Glaseado Mountain, which is good for slightly more advanced training. Keep an eye out for a special Tera Type battle against a level 48 Grafaiai while you’re there!

Tagtree Thicket is a great place to find common Pokémon like Grass, Bug, and Normal types, including Venomoth, Vivillon, Vespiquen, Chansey, and Oinkologne. These Pokémon are generally easy to defeat, helping trainers build a well-rounded team. You’ll also find Water-types, and occasionally Pokémon of other types like Dark and Fighting.

North Province Area 2 Has Powerful Wild Pokémon

Okay, so North Province Area Two is the spot to go when you’re really getting into the late game and need to level up your Pokémon. There’s a ton of different stuff there, including some seriously tough Dragon and Steel types, which is perfect for training a strong team before tackling the bigger challenges. And get this – it’s the only place you can find certain special Paradox Pokémon, which are super cool and unique. It really makes exploring feel worthwhile!

North Province Area Two is a beautiful but challenging place to explore, filled with steep mountains and deep valleys. Players will need good navigation skills to get around! Hidden throughout the area are caves and waterfalls that might contain rare Pokémon or useful items. It’s a great spot for trainers looking to level up their Pokémon and requires careful planning to make the most of it.

West Province Area 2 Has Water Pokémon to Battle

As a Pokémon Scarlet and Violet player, I’ve found Porto Marinada to be a really important spot in West Province Area Two. But honestly, the whole area is great for building up a team! You can find a ton of wild Pokémon around levels 22 to 29, and even some tougher ones if you look around. What I really love is how many different environments there are – it keeps things interesting and means you’ll encounter a wide variety of Pokémon.

West Province Area Two offers diverse environments – from plains and towns to water and rocky areas – making it a great place to train a well-rounded Pokémon team. Pokémon of Electric and Grass types will find it especially useful for leveling up, thanks to the beaches, rivers, and oceans, and the presence of Pokémon like Gyarados and Drednaw. Trainers can also gain valuable experience by battling the many Normal-type Pokémon found here, including wild Chansey.

Alfornada Cavern Gets Pokémon Trainers Ready for Late-Game

Later in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, players can head to Alfornada Cavern in South Province Area Six to train their Pokémon and reach level 40. The cavern features a variety of strong Pokémon, perfect for earning experience points. Wild Pokémon here range from level 37 to 44, and players can also challenge special Tera Type battles against a level 42 Houndoom and a level 50 Umbreon.

Alfornada Cavern is home to a lot of Pokémon that excel at physical attacks, which makes sense given the rocky environment. You’ll find strong, tough Pokémon like Hariyama, but also powerful special attackers like the Electric/Poison-type Toxtricity. Keep an eye out for Pokémon like Gabite, Shelgon (in Violet), Pupitar (in Scarlet), and Deino while you’re exploring!

Early Level Tera Raids Help Pokémon Trainers Get Ahead

While not a specific location, this is a great way to earn Experience Candies. These candies help speed up the leveling process, and you can do it solo or with help from other players online.

The easiest Tera Raids – those rated 3 stars and lower – are a great way to quickly earn candies and items to sell. Players are using these to level up and make money. If you have friends who are further along and doing harder raids (4- and 5-star), they can help you grind even faster, letting you get more rewards with less effort.

South Province Area 4 Offers Low-to-Mid Level Grinding

South Province Area Four is the first major route players can reach, even before getting their Pokémon partners. However, reaching it normally isn’t possible – players need to use a specific trick within the battle system to access it.

Players can cleverly cross gaps that usually need jumps by starting a Pokémon battle on the path linking Area One and Area Four. This allows for early leveling – the Pokémon in Area Four range from level 14 to 30, and can even reach level 50 in Tera Battles or Fixed Spawns – but players should be cautious of the challenging opponents.

West Province Area 1 Helps Pokémon Evolve

West Province Area 1 is a great place to train Pokémon that are still developing. It’s particularly helpful for getting them to around the second evolution stage – think of it as right after you beat the Bug-type Gym. You’ll find Pokémon here ranging from level 13 to 35, making it ideal for Pokémon that are a little underpowered.

West Province Area 1 becomes accessible immediately after leaving the academy, and you don’t need to upgrade your Koraidon or Miraidon to reach it. It’s a great place to train Electric, Ground, and Fire-type Pokémon. Be aware that, like other areas in the game, you might encounter wild Tera Pokémon up to level 50.

East Province Area 2 Is Good for Low-Mid-Level Pokémon

East Province Area Two becomes available immediately after leaving the academy, but it’s a little trickier to get to. You’ll need to make a precise jump to reach it. While traveling along the river between Areas One and Two, look for a sloping section leading into the water – that’s part of Area Two.

This location allows players to quickly jump to an area with Pokémon levels 20-30, making it a good place to train. It’s also the most reliable spot to find Tauros with the Fire or Water Breed, which are valuable team members. Additionally, a powerful Electric-type Tauros at level 32 can be battled here.

Asado Desert Quickly Levels Water & Grass Pokémon

The Asado Desert is a great place to train Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet, though most players visit after completing the Water-Type Gym in Cascarrafa. As its name suggests, the desert is full of Ground-type Pokémon, making it ideal for leveling up Water- and Grass-type Pokémon.

The Asado Desert offers a good place to find and train Pokémon. While exploring, you might encounter sandwiches that can help you discover other types of Pokémon. It’s particularly useful for leveling up Bug and Dark types, such as Lokix, thanks to the abundance of Psychic-type Pokémon. The area is best for players between levels 25 and 45, offering significant progress. Skilled players looking for a challenge can also find and battle Braviaries at levels 55 and 56 for extra experience.
