Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Update Teases 2 Major Character Returns

Season 2 will feature both returning and new characters. There’s also a lot of buzz about the possible return of two major characters, though it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.

Director Marcos Siega recently shared a peek at the upcoming second season of Dexter: Resurrection on Instagram, signaling that production has begun. He posted a photo of himself on a video call with Perri Frank, a collaborator since the original Dexter: New Blood pilot. Eagle-eyed fans noticed headshots of cast members on the wall behind them, including two actors who haven’t yet been confirmed to be in the new season.

Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Sets Up Major Returns

A photo features actor David Zayas, best known for his role as Angel Batista in the Dexter series. His character died in the first season of Dexter: Resurrection, and there was no sign he’d return for Season 2. However, his picture appearing with the new cast suggests Batista will be in the upcoming episodes, likely as a hallucination for Michael C. Hall’s character, Dexter Morgan, who has a history of seeing and talking to people who are no longer alive.

The images also feature Eric Stonestreet, who played Al “Rapunzel” Walker, a serial killer in the first season. Al is unique because he’s one of the few criminals who managed to avoid Dexter’s deadly justice. After canceling a meeting with Dexter, Rapunzel fled the city. However, it appears his luck might run out. If he ever comes back to New York, it’s doubtful Dexter will allow him to escape again.

Other Familiar Faces Will Be Featured

Uma Thurman will reprise her role as Charley, who moved away after a falling out with Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage). Prater, a billionaire who led a secret group of serial killers, is no longer alive. Desmond Harrington is also returning as Joey Quinn, now a main character after appearing briefly in Season 1. It’s possible Quinn will travel to New York seeking information following the events involving Batista.

Dexter will face new challenges this season with the arrival of two dangerous serial killers: Brian Cox will play the New York Ripper, and Dan Stevens will portray the Five Borough Killer. Additionally, a new captain will join the homicide department.

Dexter: Resurrection doesn’t yet have a premiere date set for Season 2.
