Square Enix has revealed new details about the upcoming remake of Dragon Quest 7, and it’s likely to excite many fans.
Originally revealed in September 2025, it was quickly praised by both critics and fans. While the music especially stood out in our review, the entire experience was memorable, particularly due to its new ending.
This remake really shows the care and creativity the developers put into it, building on the original with the benefit of twenty years of new ideas and perspectives.
Honestly, watching this behind-the-scenes stuff was almost as captivating as actually playing the game! I was really fascinated by how the developers managed to balance the vibrant art style with the story’s darker themes – there’s a lot of that! Even if the game itself wasn’t your cup of tea, this is totally worth checking out just to see how games like this are made. It’s a cool look behind the curtain.
At the very least, this will generate excitement for the 35th anniversary of Dragon Quest on May 27th. Square Enix might use the celebration to announce Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate.
