The latest chapter, 1180, sets up Imu’s biggest battle yet, as he confronts Loki, the Prince of Elbaph.
One Piece Prepares For Imu vs. Loki in Elbaph Arc
I’ve been following the story of Loki for a while now, and his grudge against Imu runs deep. It all goes back 14 years, to what happened with Harald, the King of Elbaph. Harald genuinely tried to work with the World Government, hoping to secure a future for his people, the Giants. But Imu and the Five Elders completely betrayed him! They didn’t care about helping the Giants at all – they just wanted to exploit Harald’s power and destroy his kingdom. It was horrific. Imu turned Harald into a puppet, forced him to kill his own loyal guards at Aurust Castle. It all culminated in Loki being forced to eat a legendary Devil Fruit and, tragically, kill his own father. It’s a really heartbreaking backstory that fuels everything Loki does now.
Imu is furious that Loki ruined years of careful planning and killed one of his followers. Meanwhile, Loki wants to honor his father’s last request – a plea to be killed before he lost control and caused widespread destruction. The next chapter will show a battle between these two incredibly powerful figures, and the outcome will decide the future of the Giants’ homeland, Elbaph.
