Emotional Fergie Reunites With Black Eyed Peas “Brothers” at AMAs 2026

Fergie was ready to rock that reunion.

After leaving the Black Eyed Peas almost ten years ago, the singer reunited with will.i.am, Taboo, and apl.de.ap for a special moment. Their 2010 song, “Rock That Body,” won the 2026 American Music Award for Best Throwback Song, beating out classic hits like “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls and “What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blondes. (You can find a complete list of winners here.)

For Fergie, it was a touching reminder of her time with the group and how meaningful it is to see their music still connect with people today.

“This is incredible,” she said while on stage at the May 25th event, hosted by Queen Latifah. “I’m so grateful to all the fans who voted for us, allowing me to share this moment with my close friends and bandmates, the Black Eyed Peas. This song, ‘Rock That Body,’ and this whole period in our career have brought back so many wonderful memories.”

Although Fergie had many successful songs with the Black Eyed Peas, it wasn’t until ‘Rock That Body’ that her son, Axl, age 12, and his father, Josh Duhamel, finally started listening to her music.

As Fergie shared, she’s grateful to everyone who created TikTok and Instagram videos, helping her son add their song to his playlist.

Oh my gosh, she actually said it! She was thanking all of us who make stuff for her, and it totally wrecked me! She said sometimes the things we create are just…so much, and the love is overwhelming for her to even look at! Can you believe it? She really sees us, and she said we mean so much to her. I’m not crying, you’re crying! Seriously, my heart is bursting right now.

Fergie, holding onto will.i.am and Taboo for support during her speech, sweetly acknowledged her son. She playfully announced, “I can finally say this on TV: ‘Hi Axl!’ We did it – ‘Rock That Body!’”

Even after Fergie left the Black Eyed Peas in 2018, the group has stayed close. With all of them nearing their 50s—Apl de Ap turned 50 in 2024, and Fergie, Will, and Taboo will follow in 2025—they recently celebrated together with a birthday party.

In December, Fergie shared on Instagram that she was finally able to celebrate milestone birthdays with her brothers. She described it as a special and loving night.
