EastEnders viewers, brace yourselves! Two iconic characters have left Walford, while a familiar face has returned.
The episode began with Max Branning finally realizing his suspicions about Mark Fowler were true.
The keys Mark dropped at the car lot fit the kitchen door of the Mitchells’ home, strongly suggesting he was the one stealing cars from the dealership.
Max and his girlfriend, Cindy Beale, publicly accused someone after gathering evidence. Lauren Beale quickly defended the accused, as she had been working with him to sell unreliable cars and didn’t want to get caught up in the trouble.
Grant Mitchell unexpectedly showed up and tried again to reach out to his son, whom he’d been estranged from. He took responsibility for the situation, clarifying that it wasn’t Mark’s fault.

Max was still considering calling the police, but Phil Mitchell used his wealth to quietly resolve a problem involving his brother and nephew, saving them from a difficult situation.
Max wasn’t convinced by Grant’s explanation, so he called the police and asked them to come to his apartment. They wanted to talk to Lauren, who then warned the Mitchells about what was happening.
Grant had a ticket to go back to Portugal and was ready to leave. Meanwhile, Sister Sam (Kim Medcalf) checked in for the same flight, and Phil noticed she seemed to be taking on the role of their mother, Peggy, by looking out for Grant.
I watched with bated breath as the police started heading for number 55. Lauren instantly yelled at them to hold on, hoping to buy Grant some time to slip away unnoticed. It was a desperate attempt, and I was on the edge of my seat wondering if it would work!
Phil was rushing to pick up his brother and sister from the airport when a taxi pulled into the square. And who stepped out? Sharon Watts!

Letitia Dean is back as Sharon after being away from the show for seven months. She returned home with her son, Albie, to unexpectedly surprise her half-sister, Vicki Fowler (played by Alice Haig), on her wedding day.
Just last week, it looked like Sharon and Vicki’s mother, Michelle, wouldn’t be able to come to the ceremony. Vicki told Kathy Beale she’d advised them not to book expensive flights.

In the penultimate scene of the episode, Sharon burst out of the kitchen and tightly hugged Vicki.
Whitney Dean returned to Walford this week and surprised Zack Hudson with news of a new boyfriend. While Zack had hoped they could get back together, he hinted to Ross Marshall that Whitney might be unfaithful again, despite not being able to convince Vicki of this.
Cue the doof doofs!
