Okay, so I was checking the Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee’s latest ratings, and guess what? Persona 4 Revival got rated! Sega submitted it for rating on April 9th, and it was approved pretty quickly on April 24th. It’s rated for ages 15 and up, which makes sense given the game deals with some pretty mature stuff – a serial killer investigation and all the character drama that comes with it.
So, I saw a rating pop up for this game, and it’s making me think Sega and Atlus are finally gearing up to show us more of it. They haven’t really given us much since they first announced it last year, so this is a good sign! I’m hoping for a trailer or some gameplay soon.
The remake of Persona 4, titled Persona 4 Revival, was announced in June 2025 with a short teaser. This new version is being completely rebuilt from the ground up using updated technology. The teaser suggests it will have a similar look and feel to Persona 3 Reload, the 2025 remake of the original Persona 3.
So, all we’ve seen of Persona 4 Revival so far is a quick peek at Inaba. They showed off a bunch of locations you’ll be able to explore – like the market, my house, and even school! The trailer was super short, and the only actual gameplay footage was me running from the shrine through the market street. It definitely got me hyped, though!
The game is officially in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Sega has also announced it will be available to play via Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Following weeks of speculation, it’s been confirmed that a remake of Persona 4 is in development. Like Persona 3 Reload, the remake will feature completely updated graphics, voice acting, and music.
I remember back in May 2025, there was a lot of buzz about a Persona 4 remake when Yuri Lowenthal, who voiced Yosuke, hinted that it was happening! He actually posted online saying he’d really wanted to come back as Yosuke and had even asked Atlus, but they told him no. It’s a shame, and I think the post is gone now, but it definitely got fans talking!
Even though it’s called Persona 4, this game really established the core identity of the Persona series. Earlier Persona games like Revelations: Persona, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, and Eternal Punishment existed, but they played and felt quite different from the games that followed – Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5. The series became famous for its focus on the social lives of high school students, who are always the main characters.
In the game Persona 4, you play as a student who moves to the quiet town of Inaba for a year while his parents are away on work. Things start out normal – making friends and attending school – but soon a series of disappearances and unusual deaths begin to occur. These events are linked to a strange urban legend about a mysterious TV channel that only appears during rainy weather.
