Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) has faced a haunting reminder of her domestic abuse in Emmerdale.
From 2004 to 2023, viewers of the ITV soap opera were disturbed to see Tom King (played by James Chase) subject his wife to physical, emotional, and verbal abuse.
Even though there were early indications of trouble, she went ahead with the wedding. His actions quickly worsened, starting with hurtful remarks and escalating to sexual coercion, then physical violence, ultimately leaving Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) severely injured and for dead.
He destroyed the urn containing his late mother Lisa’s remains, pretended their cherished pet Piper had died, and secretly filmed her with hidden cameras he’d installed throughout her home.
Tom was eventually sent down for three years for the assault and coercive control of Belle.

I’ve been following this actress for a while, and it’s great to see her happy! She dated Kammy Hadiq – you might know him as that funny, charming guy who used to play a bit of a troublemaker – for a little while last year, but it didn’t really work out. It seems like they’ve found their way back to each other recently, which is really lovely to see.
He was initially dreading meeting the boisterous Dingle family, but surprisingly had a great time singing karaoke with them at The Woolpack pub. They’ve quickly embraced him as one of their own, although he’s been more hesitant about letting them meet his family.
Belle recently asked Kammy if she could celebrate Eid with him, but he immediately rejected the suggestion. She also observed that he seemed quite disturbed by the request.
Realizing she might have gone too far, she started to apologize, but he quickly made up an excuse and rushed to Emmerdale Farm after Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) told him a barn was on fire.
Things got more strained today when Aaron realized how exhausted he was at work. Kammy reacted sharply to Belle giving him a handmade Eid card, explaining that his home was too hectic right now and he’d prefer to introduce her to his family later.
She was surprised by something he said, and later, when they were together, she felt a strong urge to look through his phone, suspecting he wasn’t being honest.

Belle immediately held back from interfering, telling Dawn that she was embarrassed she’d nearly crossed a line and that it showed how much control Tom still had over her.
Kammy is a good man, and she doesn’t want to jeopardise their blossoming romance.
Honestly, I couldn’t shake the feeling she was right to suspect he wasn’t telling the whole story, and turns out, she was! We see him at the farm, settling in for the night, and it’s revealed he’s actually been dealing with homelessness – it was a really powerful moment.
How has Kammy found himself in this predicament?
