PS Plus Is Doing Something I’ve Never Seen Before with June’s Games

I’ve been writing about PlayStation for a long time – even before the launch of PS Plus in 2010 – and I’ve never encountered a situation like this one before.

Sony is giving players an extra two weeks to claim EA Sports FC 26 as part of their May 2026 PlayStation Plus games. This means you’ll have until June 2026 to add it to your library.

The PS Plus Essential games Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and Nine Sols will be removed on June 2nd as scheduled. However, you’ll have until June 16th to add the soccer game to your game library.

Just a reminder that PlayStation Plus Essential games are yours to keep as long as you’re a member after you download them. This means you have an extra two weeks to get EA’s football game before the World Cup kicks off on June 11th.

Okay, awesome news if you’re thinking of grabbing PlayStation Plus during Days of Play! You can get it cheaper, but just a heads-up: this deal is for people who don’t currently have a subscription, or whose subscriptions have already run out. So, if you’re already a member, it won’t apply to you.

As noted on the PlayStation Blog, PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers will also be able to get some free packs for the Ultimate Team mode, likely as a way to introduce new players to this popular and profitable feature from EA Sports.

Okay, so as a fan, I’m actually really impressed with the free stuff they’re giving away! You get a Gold Starting XI pack and three Iconic Player Picks, which basically means you get a solid team to kick things off and speed up your progress. It’s a smart way to get you into the game, honestly!

I’m really excited that EA Sports FC 26 will be available for even longer! I also just saw you can find out what games are coming to PS Plus Essential in June 2026 right now, and they’ve given us a sneak peek at what’s being added to PS Plus Extra next month too. Awesome!
