This time, Enola is juggling her growing relationship with Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge)—possibly even wedding planning—while tackling a particularly difficult case in Malta. The Evolution of Enola Holmes Continues in the Sequel
The success of the first two Enola Holmes films comes from watching Enola grow, both as a person and as a detective, and how she navigates this journey with her well-known brother. While she’s still discovering who she is in the third film, Millie Bobby Brown says we see a much clearer sense of her identity this time around.
In a recent interview, Brown explained that her character has successfully created a life for herself, but is now wondering what she wants to do with it. She believes this feeling is something many people experience – the challenge of figuring out your identity after achieving a long-term goal, and asking yourself, ‘Who am I now?’
Having watched her grow up alongside the character, Brown found the themes of the story deeply relatable. The role explored the challenges of finding a balance between being independent and loving, pursuing goals while remaining open, and deciding which aspects of yourself to keep as you change. She felt it was a very authentic portrayal.
Enola Holmes’ connection with Tewkesbury has grown and changed throughout the movies, and their relationship in the third film will be the most developed yet. Millie Bobby Brown was particularly enthusiastic about this evolution, highlighting how much she enjoys working with Louis Partridge, as it adds a special quality to the films. Brown explained that their dynamic is no longer just lighthearted; it now carries real emotional depth.
