However, even with extra features, the biggest challenge for the home release will be its release date – it’s a long wait until the sequel!
KPop Demon Hunters’ Criterion Blu-ray Is Exciting, but Its Timing Is Terrible
The Criterion release of KPop Demon Hunters is exciting news for fans, but the release date could have been better. Coming out on December 31st means it won’t be available for purchase as a holiday gift. Considering the film has a large fanbase, including many children, releasing it before Christmas would have been a smart move. It would have allowed fans to give copies as gifts and benefited from increased pre-holiday shopping.
This would let fans enjoy extra features during the holidays. However, it seems they’ll be celebrating the new year with HUNTR/X instead. While that’s not the worst way to start 2027, the delay of the Blu-ray release is puzzling.
