Bobby Bones Wants DWTS Mirrorball Trophy Back After Tom Bergeron Feud

Bobby Bones has an empty spot on his shelf for one very special award.

Six months after the winner of Dancing With the Stars season 27 admitted he gave back his trophy because of comments made by former host Tom Bergeron, he explained how making amends helped him appreciate his win.

Bobby told Us Weekly in an interview on May 26th that he wishes he hadn’t returned his Dancing With the Stars trophy. He explained that he was upset and, acting quickly, sent it back to ABC because he cares about Tom.

He said he wasn’t sure where the trophy was, but he really liked it. He jokingly asked anyone watching who might have his Mirrorball trophy to please send it back to him – he’d be thrilled to get it back.

Tom, the host of the dance competition for fourteen years (2005-2019), recently shared with Parade magazine that the most surprising moment for him was Bobby Bones winning the competition.

I first realized things were getting tough when I encountered Bobby Bones,” he explained in an interview from November 2025. “I don’t mean any disrespect to him, and I think he’d agree.

Bobby didn’t feel the same way, and after making those comments, he admitted to giving the trophy back. He had been dancing with professional dancer Sharna Burgess.

He explained in a video posted to Instagram that the criticism stung not because of the words themselves, but because of who it came from. He was surprised and upset to receive negativity, even from people he admired, such as Tom Bergeron.

I was positive and dedicated, and six years later, I’m still facing unexpected criticism. That’s why I returned the trophy. It’s clear they don’t want me involved with the show anymore, and as a result, I no longer have the Mirrorball trophy.

Bobby Estall, known simply as Bobby, shared that despite enjoying his time competing on the dance floor, an interview following his win had ruined the experience for him.

Despite the issue, the 46-year-old and Tom eventually made up after discussing what happened.

Tom explained to Bobby on the BobbyCast podcast that he felt bad about how he reacted to Bobby’s win. He said the question he was asked was about the most surprising elimination he could recall, and he just couldn’t think of one at the time.

He admitted he should have just said something like, ‘It wasn’t completely unexpected, but I was still surprised Bobby Bones won.’ Even though he said that, he was truly sorry for making the comment. He added that he felt awful learning it upset someone enough to return their trophy.

During their conversation, Bobby emphasized that he only has love for Tom.

It’s amusing, he explained, that he’s been repeatedly asked about this, even though he’s consistently stated in interviews how much he appreciates Tom Bergeron. His feelings haven’t changed at all.

Okay, so Bobby and Tom being friends now? Seriously, it’s the best! But honestly, while I’m living for their newfound friendship, I need more celebrity drama in my life! Give me the feuds, the scandals, all of it! I’m already hooked and ready to dive into who’s fighting with who next!

In January 2024, Bobby addressed speculation about a disagreement with Tan, following his announcement in November 2023 that he was leaving Queer Eye after eight seasons. (Bobby is pictured second from left.)

He assured Vanity Fair that he and Tan are doing okay. He explained they went through a personal issue, but it wasn’t related to their work on the show and wasn’t romantic in nature – it was something that had been building up between them privately.

In March 2024, Tan addressed claims that he tried to get his friend Jeremiah Brent to replace Bobby on the show Queer Eye.

Netflix and the production team held extensive auditions. I didn’t recommend my friend for the role, but they ultimately got it because they were the most qualified. I also want to clarify that I didn’t help them get the job by having another candidate removed from consideration, as he explained in an Instagram post.

During a September 2023 game of “Stir the Pot” with her daughter, Kelly Osbourne, on TopMob News, Sharon Osbourne revealed that Ashton Kutcher was the rudest celebrity she’d ever encountered. She described him as a very rude and unpleasant person, calling him a “rude little boy” and a “dastardly little thing.”

He did not respond to her remarks publicly.

Five years ago, Sharon shared with Larry King that Ashton seemed annoyed during his 2014 appearance on The Talk because she had misspoken his name.

She remembered him asking, “Who are you and what have you accomplished in this field?” Her response was blunt: “Listen, young man, don’t underestimate me, because I’ll completely destroy you.” She finished by saying, “You have no idea what you’re up against.”

In August 2022, Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris publicly disagreed with Brittany Aldean, wife of country singer Jason Aldean, after Brittany posted a video on Instagram. In the video, posted on August 23rd, Brittany thanked her parents for not allowing her to transition during a phase where she preferred traditionally masculine interests, stating she enjoyed being feminine.

In a 2022 TikTok trend, JoJo Siwa called Candace Cameron Bure the “rudest” celebrity she’d met, explaining that Bure once turned down her request for a photo on the red carpet. Soon after, Cameron Bure apologized, saying she regretted hurting Siwa’s feelings when she was younger and acknowledging that she should have taken the picture. She expressed her sincere regret to Siwa.

Candace and the other person resolved their differences. However, when asked months later if her network, Great American Family, would ever feature same-sex couples as the main characters in its holiday movies, she stated that wasn’t likely, explaining that the network would continue to focus on traditional marriage.

JoJo, who publicly shared they are part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, responded to the actress’ comment on Instagram, calling it “rude and hurtful to the entire LGBTQ+ community.”

In June 2021, Courtney Love claimed Olivia Rodrigo had copied the album cover art for her band Hole in a promotional photo without proper credit. Olivia responded with a supportive message, saying, “Love u and live through this sooooo much.” Courtney then playfully replied, “Olivia – you’re welcome. My favorite florist is in Notting Hill, London! DM me for details! I look forward to reading your note [winking face emoji].”

While on Watch What Happens Live, the Happy Days actor explained the reason he and the Forrest Gump star didn’t get along while filming their 1989 movie, Turner & Hooch.

I directed the movie for thirteen days, and then Jeff Katzenberg, the producer, called me into his office and told me to pack up and go home, as I had everything I needed with me.

Winkler and Hanks’ dog seemed to get along very well. “I really loved that dog,” Winkler said.

He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.

“You know what you did!”

Anyone who watched The Hills likely remembers that famous line from Lauren, spoken at the start of season three. The drama between her and Heidi began when Heidi started dating Spencer Pratt. It really exploded when Lauren claimed Heidi and Spencer spread a false rumor about her and her boyfriend at the time, Jason Wahler, alleging she’d made a sex tape.

Tyrese and Dwayne Johnson had a public falling out in 2017, starting with an Instagram post from Tyrese complaining about the delay of Fast & Furious 9 until April 2020. On the same day, a spin-off movie featuring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham was announced, slated for release in 2019. The next month, Tyrese said he would leave Fast 9 if Dwayne Johnson was still involved.

Tyrese recently discussed the conflict with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, telling Van Lathan on The Red Pill podcast that he still hasn’t spoken to Johnson directly, though they plan to talk. He did, however, speak with one of Johnson’s producing partners, but not with Johnson himself.

Tyrese admitted he shouldn’t have publicly shared frustrations on behalf of others connected to the franchise, taking full responsibility for his actions. He said it was unprofessional and a mistake.

No more bad blood here.

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had a long-running public disagreement, rumored to have been the inspiration behind Swift’s song “Bad Blood.” The conflict, which began with issues over a dancer and competition during their tours, was resolved when Perry sent Swift an olive branch as a peace offering before Swift’s Reputation Tour began.

Taylor shared on Instagram that she found a real olive branch in her dressing room, saying it meant a lot to her.

Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

For years, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, stars of Sex and the City, successfully dismissed rumors of a disagreement. However, those rumors resurfaced when Kim chose not to participate in a third movie and later made statements about her co-star that sparked controversy.

During a September 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked Sarah Jessica Parker how she felt about Kim Cattrall telling Piers Morgan they had only ever been coworkers, not friends.

She said she was just devastated, explaining that they had talked about it all week. She was really bothered by it because her memory of what happened was completely different.

It’s definitely sad, but I believe what really connected us was the shared experience we had together. It started as a professional project, but over the years, it became something deeply personal. I’m hoping that those years of working on something special, and the connections we all made, will ultimately be more important than any recent disagreements. It was a real privilege to be a part of something so meaningful with so many people.

And though they didn’t film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That.

Elton John and Madonna have been publicly disagreeing since 2004. The conflict began when Elton, while accepting an award, criticized Madonna’s live performances, using strong language to suggest she relied too much on lip-syncing. He stated that performers who don’t sing live should be held accountable, especially considering the cost of concert tickets.

The actress, formerly known for her role on Grey’s Anatomy, caused a disagreement with the show’s creator back in 2008 when she asked to no longer be considered for an Emmy Award. She explained that she didn’t believe she’d been given strong enough storylines to justify a nomination.

Shonda Rhimes discussed Katherine’s choice in a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter. She admitted it was both hurtful and expected. “When someone shows you their true colors, you should believe it,” Shonda explained. “I’ve really taken that to heart, and it’s helped me a lot.”

The fight between Nicki and Cardi at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party during New York Fashion Week made headlines everywhere. A month later, Cardi publicly explained what started the conflict with Nicki.

Cardi B told W magazine that someone has been repeatedly criticizing her. She explained that she’d talked to this person twice and thought they’d resolved things, but the negativity continued.

The conflict really escalated when Cardi B noticed Nicki Minaj had supposedly reacted to a tweet criticizing Cardi’s parenting, though Nicki claims she didn’t actually engage with it.

I was set to earn a lot of money from my Bruno Mars tour, but I chose to stay home with my daughter instead,” Cardi explained. “I love my daughter, and I’m a really good mom. It’s frustrating when people without children criticize that decision. People say the party wasn’t the right time or place to see another artist, but I don’t expect to run into someone famous casually, like at the grocery store or on the street.

The conflict between Kanye West and Taylor Swift began in 2009 when he interrupted her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. They later reconciled and became friends, but their relationship fell apart in 2016 following the release of Kanye’s song “Famous,” which mentioned Taylor by name.

Just before the Grammys in February 2025, Kanye West began following only Taylor Swift on Instagram. He didn’t offer any explanation for the action, and Taylor Swift didn’t publicly acknowledge it.

“I don’t know her.”

The rumored rivalry between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez began in 2003 during a German television interview. When asked about Jennifer Lopez, Mariah responded simply, “I don’t know her.”
