When BRZRKR launched in 2021, created by Keanu Reeves and Matt Kindt, it quickly lived up to the excitement surrounding it. This comic is a unique, action-packed, and often brutal story about an immortal warrior known only as B. He works for the U.S. government, tackling the most dangerous missions, but all he really wants is to find a way to end his own life. The series became incredibly popular, leading to spin-offs that delve deeper into B’s past. Now, the newest installment, BRZRKR: Light Draws Breath, takes things even further with a standalone story set in the Bronze Age, and we’ve got a sneak peek.
The latest installment of BRZRKR, titled BRZRKR: Light Draws Breath #1, reunites Keanu Reeves with author China Miéville, who previously wrote the BRZRKR novel The Story of Elsewhere. This marks Miéville’s first comic book work for the BRZRKR series and their first outside of DC Comics. Alessio Avalone provides the art, and the issue features cover art by Esad Ribic (main cover), Ronald Wimberly, David Lafuente, Dillon Snook, and Sweeny Boo. It’s available now, and a sneak peek suggests it’s definitely worth checking out.

BRZRKR’s Comics World Keeps Expanding — And There’s More Coming Off The Page, Too
This new issue gives fans of BRZRKR more of the story they love, and there’s even more to anticipate beyond the comics. A live-action movie is being made for Netflix, starring Keanu Reeves as B, with a script by Mattson Tomlin and direction from Justin Lin, who is also producing. Although updates have been scarce recently, the film was still in development as of last March.
