Currently, 007 First Light is a standout single-player campaign of 2026. That’s saying something, considering how many great games have already been released this year – including titles like Pragmata and Resident Evil Requiem.
After finishing the 10-15 hour main story, you might want to continue playing the James Bond game, as the developers at IOI have exciting future plans for it.
In a recent interview with Eurogamer.net, Chief Development Officer Véronique Lallier stated that the game’s release is only the first step, and that detailed plans for future updates – known as the TacSim roadmap – will be shared soon.
TacSim revisits levels from the 007 First Light game, offering fresh challenges and goals for players.
Lallier said:
We’ve had a lot of success with post-launch support for Hitman, and we plan to do the same with this new game. We’ll be releasing additional content, similar to our ‘TacSim’ updates, and sharing a clear plan for what’s coming. We see launching the game as just the first step. It’s really important to us to hear what players think and use that feedback to improve the game – to add more of what people enjoy and less of what they don’t. We’ve been doing this with the Hitman series for over ten years, and we’re excited to continue that approach with this new project.
The Hitman series keeps getting bigger and better, and we’ve recently seen some surprising missions – including taking on celebrity targets like Eminem and Bruce Lee.
I’m really looking forward to seeing how IOI develops TacSim in the future. We can probably expect new equipment and tools, but it would be amazing if they also brought in some classic James Bond villains and used the existing game environments with them. That would be a fantastic addition.
I’m about a quarter of the way through 007 First Light and I’m really enjoying the story and how well the game lets you control James Bond. I was worried about how it would run on the PS5 Pro, but IOI has done a fantastic job with performance.
I’ll be playing through the game over the next few days, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what the Danish developer does with it next.
I don’t anticipate this game will receive the same level of long-term support as Hitman, simply because that game was easier to expand upon. However, I’m confident the developers will continue to improve the game and provide James Bond fans with plenty of new content in the future.
