Honestly, if things don’t change, I’m worried Xbox could end up like Atari or Sega, leaving the console market altogether and just making games for other platforms. To turn things around, they have to win back players who’ve switched to PlayStation or Nintendo, and attract new ones too. That’s going to take serious investment and might mean admitting some recent choices – like putting games like Halo and Gears on PlayStation – weren’t the best. But if they can nail down some truly amazing exclusives again, Xbox could really prove itself and become a platform everyone has to own.
