Mya wants to reunite with her soul sistas.
More than 25 years after recording her version of “Lady Marmalade” for the Moulin Rouge! soundtrack with Christina Aguilera, Pink, and Lil’ Kim, the Chicago actress confirmed they’ve always gotten along, despite ongoing rumors of a feud, and hinted that they might work together again in the future.
Mya recently told TopMob News that everything is good between everyone involved. She explained that the main challenges are simply coordinating schedules, managing finances, and finding the right way to launch things on a large scale.
Given that the band’s only single from 2001 was so successful, the 46-year-old isn’t interested in reuniting just to relive the past.
“Of course, we can’t do anything less than,” she reasoned. “We have to meet or exceed expectations. It’s very important so that there are no disappointments. And there are just a lot of logistical aspects to making something like that happen.”
Nevertheless, it is something Mya is hoping for.
“The fans are not alone because I am right there with you,” she admitted. “Fingers crossed.”
Although there were long-held beliefs about a rivalry between Pink and Christina Aguilera stemming from their work on a music video together, Mya remembers a positive and friendly atmosphere during filming.
She said she really loves being part of a group with other women. She explained that she used to work mostly with male hip-hop artists and often felt like the only woman around. While she had fun, it’s been really nice to collaborate with other women.

Mya emphasized there was so much the foursome could relate over.
It was a really special experience, filled with both respect and excitement. I loved working with everyone as a team – it wasn’t just about one female artist, but all of us coming together. We all had different backgrounds, played different kinds of music, and had our own careers, which made being a part of it – and watching it happen – truly amazing. Plus, the crowds that came to our shows were incredibly diverse and wonderful.
It’s great to see the song still resonates with people today. As Mya said, it’s “really cool when things reappear and gain new popularity on their own.”

I’ve been a TLC fan forever, and it’s amazing to me that T-Boz and Chilli are still keeping the group going strong after losing Left Eye back in 2002. I remember when Lil Mama toured with them for a bit in 2013, and I was so excited when they announced they were working on new music in 2017 – it’s incredible they’re still making music all these years later!

Oh my gosh, Little Mix are everything! Seriously, they’re like the queens of pop, and I just adore how they sing about things that actually matter. Like, they don’t just sing about fluff – they tackle body image, being a strong woman, the craziness of social media, and how they balance it all while being moms! It’s so inspiring, honestly. They just get it.
