Okay, so all those leaks were true! Activision has officially announced the next Call of Duty is going to be Modern Warfare 4 – I’m so hyped! We’ve been hearing whispers for weeks, and it’s finally confirmed. Can’t wait!
Call of Duty has consistently released a new main game every year since Call of Duty 2, starting with its initial release in 2005.
The popular Modern Warfare series will be back in 2026, launching on October 23rd.
As predicted by leakers, the story will focus on a war on the Korean Peninsula.
In a press release on the game’s official website, the game’s story is described as follows:
In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, war breaks out on the Korean Peninsula when North Korea launches a large-scale invasion, potentially causing global instability.
A group of young South Korean soldiers struggles to stay alive as their defenses crumble. Meanwhile, across the globe, Captain Price, driven by revenge, fights a hidden battle, constantly evading his pursuers.
When Price’s secret operation intersects with the power driving the invasion, the conflict escalates and becomes unmanageable.

Players will battle across a range of diverse maps, including Korean trenches, the streets of New York and Paris, and SAS raids in Mumbai, among others.
The multiplayer experience is getting a major overhaul, focusing on realistic and skillful combat. Players can expect smoother movement, more meaningful choices, and better overall control in every fight.
Young Mazino, the actor from Beef and The Last of Us, will be the voice of Private Park, the main character in the game’s story.
I was really surprised to hear that the new game won’t be on older consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One, but I’m absolutely thrilled it’s coming to the Nintendo Switch 2! It’s been over ten years since we’ve been able to play a game in this series on a Nintendo console, so this is huge news for me.
With the disappointing story mode in Black Ops 7 and Battlefield 6 doing so well, players are likely expecting Modern Warfare 4 to be a strong return to what made the series great.
The latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise, Modern Warfare 4, will be available on October 23, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
