Netflix’s popular animated movie, KPop Demon Hunters, continues to be a hit with fans, and they’ve shown they’re excited for new ways to engage with the series – as seen with the recent McDonald’s trading card release. Now, Kayou, a trading card company, is offering a new line of KPop Demon Hunters cards. Pre-orders are open now, and the first cards will be available on June 1st. I recently had a chance to preview some of these new KPop Demon Hunters collectibles.
Let’s start by clarifying what these cards are. The KPop Demon Hunters Collectible Trading Cards are exactly that – collectible cards, not a game you play. They feature fantastic artwork inspired by the popular Netflix movie, but there aren’t any rules or gameplay involved. While it’s a little disappointing we won’t be able to play a KPop Demon Hunters trading card game, these cards still offer plenty for fans to enjoy.

KPop Demon Hunters Fans Can Now Collect Iconic Characters and Moments in Card Form
I didn’t jump on the KPop Demon Hunters bandwagon right away, but once I finally watched it, I totally got the appeal. I’ve probably listened to the soundtrack countless times since then! Turning such a unique and exciting franchise into a trading card game seemed like a challenge, but Kayou has done an amazing job – I think fans will really love it.
The first release of KPop Demon Hunters trading cards features two kinds of packs. The Classic packs contain 5 cards with 8 different levels of rarity, while the Energy packs have 8 cards and 11 different rarities. Altogether, there are already 231 unique cards to collect, and more are on the way, giving fans a lot to look forward to from the start.
These cards are visually striking, featuring bright colors and a glossy sheen that perfectly captures the energy of KPop Demon Hunters. Each card offers a unique experience – some simulate FaceTime calls with popular characters like the Saja Boys, while others look like Instagram posts of key moments from the movie. I haven’t seen this much variety in a trading card set before, making every pack a delightful surprise. Plus, a few cards even have animated elements that shift when you tilt them!
Okay, so the cards clearly show how rare each one is, both on the front and the back of the packs, which makes it super easy to spot the cool, harder-to-get ones. Honestly, it’s pretty obvious these are meant for collecting, not actually playing a game. I was hoping the first KPop Demon Hunters cards would have some kind of fun battle system to go with them, but even without that, they’re still a really cool and interesting set for fans to grab and enjoy!
A Creative Approach to Trading Card Design that Could Have a Few Drawbacks
The new KPop Demon Hunters trading cards have a really interesting feature that might also bother some collectors. The cards come in different formats – some are designed like vertical FaceTime calls, while others are horizontal and show animated scenes. Even cards with the same orientation look different, mimicking things like social media posts or ID cards. This makes opening packs exciting, as each card feels unique. However, it might make it harder to create a neatly organized collection.

However, since these cards aren’t for playing games, they won’t be handled as much, so the shine is less likely to fade.
The KPop Demon Hunters Collectible Trading Cards are a really enjoyable way for fans to connect with Huntrx, the Saja Boys, and the movie’s universe. The cards are bright, colorful, and made with excellent materials, offering a lot of different cards and fun character details to collect.
