Although reactions to The Mandalorian and Grogu have been varied, several aspects of the film have stood out. The criticism that the movie feels isolated – not significantly expanding the larger Star Wars universe or having a major impact on other stories – is largely accurate. Some viewers found this limiting, while others simply enjoyed it as a self-contained adventure.
Despite everything else happening, The Mandalorian and Grogu delivered a fantastic story filled with fan-favorite characters, like Din Djarin and Grogu. It successfully captured the spirit of the original Star Wars films, bringing back exciting action, iconic vehicles like AT-ATs, and more. The show also provided answers to some lingering questions, including a popular one about the stormtroopers.
The Mandalorian And Grogu Revealed The Full Look Of Snowtrooper Helmets

In The Mandalorian and Grogu, we saw stormtroopers return as part of the remaining Imperial forces. This included the classic white stormtroopers and the fan-favorite snowtroopers, who first appeared in The Empire Strikes Back. Snowtroopers are easily recognizable thanks to the face covering they wear, which is designed to protect them in cold environments.
Before The Mandalorian and Grogu, fans hadn’t seen what was underneath the Mandalorian’s helmet, though it was generally believed to be different from standard stormtrooper armor. It appeared longer and less bulky. Now, The Mandalorian and Grogu has finally shown us – the helmet’s lower half resembles a gas mask more than the typical base of a stormtrooper helmet.
The Mandalorian And Grogu Wasn’t Perfect, But It Offered Plenty To Fans

As previously noted, The Mandalorian and Grogu didn’t really break new ground or offer any big surprises for the Star Wars universe. While the trailers hinted at a stronger focus on the New Republic than we’ve seen recently, that didn’t quite happen. The New Republic played a role in the story, but the film primarily stayed centered on the Mandalorian and Grogu themselves.
Despite its flaws, The Mandalorian and Grogu offered satisfying answers to long-standing Star Wars questions. The series showed us things like what snowtroopers’ helmets looked like and the state of the remaining Imperial forces at this point in the timeline. We even learned what happened to Rotta the Hutt after he appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. While not perfect, the series was enjoyable for finally addressing these details.
