Pokemon Go Players Have 2 Days to Vote on Upcoming Community Day (And It Won’t Be an Easy Choice)

Community Days are consistently one of the most anticipated events in Pokemon Go. These monthly events offer a fantastic chance to find rare and shiny versions of a specific Pokemon, and they’re a fun way to connect with other players locally. How enthusiastic players get about each Community Day really depends on which Pokemon is highlighted, as it appears frequently in the wild for a few hours. That’s why the return of player voting for Community Day Pokemon in Pokemon Go is such welcome news.

I was so excited to hear Niantic officially announced that Frigibax will be the featured Pokémon for the June Community Day on June 20th! But they didn’t stop there – they also revealed we get to choose which Pokémon will be highlighted in August! The voting is happening right now, starting today, May 30th at 9 PM Eastern Time and running until tomorrow, May 31st, at 9 PM Eastern. Honestly, it’s a tough decision – so many good options to pick from in Pokémon Go!

How to Vote for August 2026 Community Day in Pokemon Go

The next Pokémon Go Community Day is scheduled for August 16th at 2 PM local time. However, the featured Pokémon hasn’t been announced yet! Players get to decide by voting, which starts today and ends May 31st. You can choose from four different Pokémon to determine which one will be the focus of Shiny encounters later this summer.

  • Fidough
  • Nickit
  • Tadbulb
  • Yamper

I’m really torn between hoping Yamper or Fidough get the spotlight in the next Pokemon Go Community Day! All four of these Pokemon are fairly new to the game, so a lot of players are probably still trying to find their Shiny versions. Plus, their evolved forms could really benefit from some powerful special moves, which are often introduced during Community Day events. It’s a difficult decision, so if you have a preference, be sure to vote for the Pokemon you want to see featured!

You can vote for the Pokémon featured in the August 2026 Community Day event by visiting the official Pokémon Go YouTube channel. The poll opens on Saturday, May 30th at 9 PM Eastern Time. Make sure to vote quickly – the poll closes on May 31st at 9 PM ET! If you have a favorite of the four Pokémon options, don’t miss your chance to choose which one gets its own Community Day.

You might remember this happening before, and that’s because Pokemon Go has run fan votes for Community Day in the past. It’s been almost a year since the last vote – it was for the August 2020 Community Day, and Rookidee won over Lechonk. While Lechonk eventually got its own Community Day earlier this month, even if your favorite Pokemon doesn’t win this time, a lot of votes could still help it get a Community Day in the future.
