Rupert Everett is feeling the toll of his success.

The actor, best known for appearing alongside Julia Roberts and Dermot Mulroney in the 1997 film My Best Friend’s Wedding, recently spoke openly about his health. He explained that after years of working to achieve a very muscular physique in the 1990s, he’s now dealing with the effects of that intense pursuit.

Rupert recently told The Guardian that he regrets not taking better care of his body. He explained that he avoided essential routines like stretching before lifting weights, finding them tedious. As a result, he now faces significant physical limitations, believing his health will decline due to musculoskeletal issues – problems with his muscles and joints.

Oh my gosh, he explained it all! Apparently, growing up, he was so skinny! He said people expected him to look like a typical movie star, but he was naturally… slight. He actually described himself as having ‘two bones and a hole’ where his butt should be, and said his legs were practically skeletal! It’s just… heartbreaking to think about him feeling pressured to change his natural build. It makes me love him even more, honestly!

Reflecting on his past, the actor from An Ideal Husband admitted that his brief Hollywood career ultimately left him feeling unfulfilled.

Rupert admitted he was too focused on trying to advance his career instead of actually doing his work. He always felt like he was missing out on a better life happening elsewhere, and that was his main struggle.

Even though he acted with famous stars like Sophia Loren in the 1994 film Ready to Wear, and Michelle Pfeiffer and Stanley Tucci in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (1999), he still didn’t feel satisfied with his career.

Rupert explained that even his work life felt like a performance, focused on appearing appealing. He realized this stemmed from a deep-seated insecurity about his own attractiveness.

He explained that his concern with appearance wasn’t about seeking confirmation of being the most beautiful. Instead, he said vanity usually comes from feeling insecure, not from a sense of self-confidence.

In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the virus affected nerves in his ear and face, causing paralysis. He showed fans how it prevented him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on one side of his face, and that it was even becoming difficult to eat.

Fortunately, Emilia reports she has now made a full recovery and is doing well.
