Joe Jonas Says His, Sophie Turner’s Kids Give Him “Reason to Be Alive”

Everything’s alright when Joe Jonas looks his little girls in the eyes.

Jonas Brothers member Joe Jonas spoke about how he and his ex-wife, Sophie Turner, are coparenting their daughters, Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3. He also shared how being a father has positively impacted his life.

Joe, speaking on the ‘Hey Jonas!’ podcast, shared that he’s a single father who co-parents with his children’s mother. He also said that his kids have given him a renewed sense of purpose.

Indeed, his kids have made quite the impact.

He explained that they’ve given him a renewed sense of purpose. Even when he’s feeling down, he’s quickly reminded that their affection can make everything better for him.

He’s also thankful to have Sophie in his corner.

Honestly, seeing him talk about being a single parent just gets me. It’s so relatable! He’s amazing because he acknowledges it’s tough, but he’s so thankful he has a good co-parent to share the load, even when things are rough. But what really melts my heart is how he values his friends and support system – he says having good people around him to help him through everything is special, and it truly is! It just shows what a genuine person he is.

In September 2023, Joe, age 36, filed for divorce from his wife, Sophie, who is 30. Court records obtained by TopMob News show he asked for joint custody of their children and a detailed plan for how they would be raised.

Just two weeks after the singer of “Cake by the Ocean” filed for divorce, the actress from Staircase filed a lawsuit against her soon-to-be ex-husband. She claims he illegally kept their daughters in New York City, away from their usual home in England.

In 2024, the couple announced they had agreed on how to share custody of their children before completing their divorce.

These days, the former couple gets along much better, mainly because they both agree that their children’s well-being is the most important thing.

Indeed, Joe shared that his little ones are “the reason I do what I do now.”

And fatherhood has also had a positive impact on his professional life.

He explained that knowing he can work diligently when he’s apart from his loved ones, and then return to enjoying time with them, motivates him to work even harder.

Joe added of his kids, “I think they’ve taught me that I’ll be OK even in my toughest days.”

Look, I know they’re over, truly. But honestly? It’s cruel! All these birthday hangouts, the hugs, and then…that Fast Times read-through? Seriously?! It felt like they were deliberately messing with us fans, like a little ‘we’re still close and you’ll always wonder’ game. It’s just…taunting, you know? They’re toying with my emotions, and I can’t handle it!

It takes a certain level of confidence to playfully tease your ex on his own show. That’s exactly what Sarah did when she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show to promote her series, I Love You, America, and jokingly commented on his wife, Molly Kimmel. She quipped, “It’s not fair! She got the updated, more aware Jimmy. I only had the ‘Man Show’ version of him.”

Honestly, some observers seemed more affected by this breakup than the people directly involved. When Anna—who is now married to Michael Barrett—learned that Pratt was going to marry Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019, she surprisingly offered to perform the wedding ceremony. She even sent a gift when Pratt and Schwarzenegger’s daughter, Lyla, was born in August 2020. A source revealed that Anna was delighted her son, Jack, would have a little sister and described her as being very supportive of the new family.

Their breakup could have easily led to disaster, but four years later, these HGTV stars are thriving. They’re successfully co-parenting their children, Taylor and Brayden, and continuing to renovate and revitalize homes for others.

Lenny Kravitz and his ex-wife, actress Zoë Kravitz’s mother, describe their relationship as a close, familial bond – what he called “best friends” in a 2013 interview with Oprah Winfrey. Despite their divorce and her subsequent marriage to and split from Jason Momoa in 2020, they maintain a happy and supportive connection. As Lenny put it, it’s a beautiful example of how things can work out positively even after a relationship ends.

Since ending their relationship in 2020, the Dancing With the Stars co-host and her ex-husband, a former hockey player, have consistently shown they remain friendly with each other.

When Brooks announced he was getting engaged to Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir in December 2024, Julianne publicly shared her excitement. She posted on Instagram, wishing them both a future filled with love, laughter, and many adventures as they begin this new chapter together.

The dancer, her ex-husband, and his pregnant fiancée spent a day together at the lake. She shared a photo of the four of them with a caption calling them ‘cuties’ and describing it as a ‘special day’.

Since splitting up in 2015, the parents of Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel have managed a remarkably friendly co-parenting relationship. They continue to vacation and celebrate holidays together, and Ben has publicly praised his ex-partner, calling her “an amazing mother” in a 2016 interview with TopMob News.

Nina and Ian dated for three years before breaking up in 2013, but they stayed friends. The following year, Nina began dating Nikki Reed and quickly became close with her, as Nikki had recently married the Vampire Diaries star. Naturally, Nina and Nikki became friends.

The couple broke up in July 2016 after being together for five years. The singer later shared on Howard Stern’s radio show in October that she remained very close to her ex, saying he had been both a lover and a friend for a long time.

“We love each other,” she said. “That’s it.”

Even years after The Office ended in 2013, the chemistry between its stars remained apparent, and Mindy Kaling understands why fans still hope they’d get together. In a 2019 interview with Good Housekeeping, she explained that while she chose him to be a godfather to her children, their connection goes beyond just friendship. She said, ‘If I were watching from the outside, I’d feel the same way,’ but clarified that B.J. is now more like family.

After their divorce was finalized in 2011, the former couple easily continued to raise their son, Bronx. The Fall Out Boy singer has praised his ex-wife, calling her a fantastic mother.

Looks like she’s moved on from that past relationship! The singer has mentioned they’re still on good terms with their ex, describing their connection as friendly and positive.

Jennifer and her Dexter co-star first met while working on the show in 2006, and their relationship became romantic two years later. Despite divorcing in 2011, Jennifer later confirmed they remained friendly and supportive of each other.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always impressed by successful co-parenting, and Bruce Willis and Demi Moore really set the bar! They’ve always had a great relationship, so it wasn’t a surprise to me that they decided to quarantine together with their daughters – Rumer, Tallulah, and Scout – up in Idaho. It just felt like the natural thing to do for their family, and honestly, it sounds like they had a lot of fun – maybe even a dance party or two!

Even four years after their 2014 split, Jennifer Lopez continued to praise her ex-husband, the father of her twins, Max and Emme. In a 2018 interview on Sunday Today, she shared how Marc Anthony boosted her self-esteem. He constantly reminded her of her talent, telling her, ‘You’re a great singer. Don’t ever let anybody tell you you’re not.’ She greatly admired him and considered him one of the greatest singers ever.

Despite any personal struggles he might be facing, the actress will always support her ex-husband and former Scream colleague. Although their relationship ended in 2007, they still had great chemistry on screen when they starred in the 2011 film Bad Teacher.

Although their 2013 breakup was difficult at first, the actors have reached a point where they can vacation together as a group. The actor shared with LaPalme Magazine that he gets along well with his ex-wife’s husband, and that a 2017 trip to Cancun with her husband, Dave Abrams, their daughters Luca, Lola, and Fiona, and Peter’s fiancée, Lily Anne Harrison, was enjoyable. He explained to the magazine that relationships evolve and that love can still exist even when people aren’t together anymore, stating, “People come into your life for a reason and relationships can change.”

Even though they unexpectedly separated in September 2012, the couple worked hard to appear supportive of each other for their children’s sake. In a 2014 interview with Howard Stern, she explained that she and Will remained close friends and were successfully co-parenting. She didn’t view their ten-year marriage as a failure, believing that all relationships face challenges.

The Grammy-winning artist and her ex-husband, who officially divorced in January 2024, have maintained a friendly relationship while raising their son, Hayes. They even live just five minutes apart, making it easy to share parenting responsibilities.
