All Creatures Great and Small star teases season 7 relationship – and potential trouble

The sixth season of All Creatures Great and Small showed Tristan struggling after his time serving in the war. He clearly wasn’t his usual self upon his return.

Although he tried to return to normal life, it soon became obvious he was struggling with what we now know as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). While the condition wasn’t formally recognized at the time, he displayed all the typical symptoms.

Tristan usually kept his feelings to himself, but during the final moments, he finally revealed the terrible things he had seen.

I was really moved hearing Siegfried talk about losing his friend Billy. He completely broke down while telling my brother about it. Apparently, Billy died in a terrible accident, and his screams actually saved Siegfried’s life – they warned him about a landmine that he would have stepped on otherwise. It’s just… a really heavy story.

I received a medal for saving some men, but unfortunately, Billy wasn’t among them. He actually saved my life, and I feel the award should have gone to him instead of me.

Amidst a difficult time, Charlotte Beauvoir brought a spark of joy into his life. After meeting while he was treating one of her horses, they quickly fell in love, and eventually confessed their feelings for each other in a heartwarming Christmas episode.

Calum Woodhouse shared with TopMob that he believes Charlotte entered his life at exactly the right moment, when he really needed support. He feels she’s different from any other woman he’s been with, and that’s why they connect so well.

They clearly have a strong connection and get along wonderfully. While that’s always been true, Tristan especially needs someone compassionate and understanding right now, as he’s still dealing with a lot. Charlotte is perfectly suited to provide that support – she’s incredibly empathetic.

She understands what Tristan is going through, having experienced difficult times herself. More importantly, she’s a genuinely kind person who gives him the space and time he needs to heal and rediscover himself.

At the time, Woodhouse also said that wedding bells could be on the cards.

“I think so,” he nodded. “I think they’re a really great pair.”

While promoting his new drama, ‘The Fortune,’ in a recent interview with TopMob, the actor hinted that things might not go as planned in the upcoming seventh season, which was revealed along with season eight last November.

He shared that he’s still dating Charlotte Beauvoir, and he feels she’s a positive influence on his well-being, especially when it comes to his mental health.

She makes him happy, and he seems a bit more at peace now. However, that likely won’t last forever, and things might be changing soon, though we’re not sure when or how.

Woodhouse avoided explaining what might cause problems for the couple and swiftly moved on to a different topic.

“There’s lots of animals!” he added.

There will be plenty of sheep featured in season 7, but romantic commitments – like weddings – aren’t likely to happen anytime soon, and might not happen at all.

All Creatures Great and Small will return on 5 later this year.
