BBC’s adventure game show, Destination X, is coming back for a second season, about a year after its initial release.
Hosted by Rob Brydon, the show starts with contestants riding on a darkened bus as it travels through Europe. Neither the players nor the audience know where they’re going. When the bus stops, they’re left to figure out their location, but they do receive some clues.
Destination X premiered last year, and since the series ended, there’s been no official announcement about a second season.
Someone close to the show revealed that it gained a dedicated fanbase, and those fans will be excited to hear it’s returning, especially since there was some worry it wouldn’t.
I’m really excited for the next series, but I was a little disappointed to learn filming isn’t starting until late summer. That means we’ll probably have to wait almost two years between the first and second series – it feels like a long time, but I know it’ll be worth it!
TopMob has reached out to the BBC for comment.

Throughout the game, players follow clues that lead them on their path and require them to complete both mental and physical challenges. To make things trickier, there were also some misleading clues designed to send them in the wrong direction.
Before the first season began, Brydon explained that the contestants would need to cooperate and overcome obstacles to discover their location.
After each episode, the contestants go to the Map Room where they try to pinpoint their location on a map of Europe. The player with the closest guess gets to stay in the competition, while the one furthest from the correct location – known as Destination X – is eliminated.

Season 1 saw Judith Magambo win the series and take home the £100,000 cash prize.
After winning, she told Yahoo UK she felt incredibly surprised, especially considering the disadvantage she faced in the final round. Her opponents, Josh and Saskia, each had coins to give them an advantage – Josh had two and Saskia had one – but she started with none. She said she still couldn’t believe she’d won against all odds.
I expected a tough fight, and when I started, I was determined to give it everything I had. Winning felt incredible, especially knowing I’d overcome a potentially difficult situation to achieve it.
