I was so excited to hear that Daniel Radcliffe – you know, Harry Potter himself – is going to be in a new thriller called Trust the Man! And get this – Jonathan Groff, who was amazing in Frozen, is joining him. It sounds like a really interesting Vietnam War story, and I can’t wait to see what they both bring to it.
Deadline first reported that Jonathan Groff and Ben Platt will star in the upcoming film, which is written and directed by Will Graham, known for ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’. Originally, Lucas Hedges was cast in Groff’s role, but he had to withdraw due to conflicts in his schedule.
Filming for ‘Trust the Man’ will begin in New Jersey this summer. The story centers on a determined Army Intelligence officer tasked with looking into the background of a highly-decorated soldier who served in Vietnam, and whose past is shrouded in mystery.
As they increasingly watch and question each other, the boundary between devotion and fixation fades, drawing the two men into a risky and consuming relationship.

Trust the Man brings together Daniel Radcliffe and Jonathan Groff, who previously co-starred in a stage revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along. They became good friends with their castmate, Lindsay Mendez, and their bond extended beyond the show – Groff officiated Mendez’s wedding to actor J Alex Brinson, and Radcliffe served as a ring bearer.
Beyond playing Harry Potter in the films, Daniel Radcliffe has appeared in movies like Horns, What If, Swiss Army Man, Now You See Me 2, Imperium, Guns Akimbo, and The Lost City. He’s also been in the series Miracle Workers.

Jonathan Groff, known for voicing Kristoff in the Frozen movies, has also appeared in films like American Sniper, The Matrix Resurrections, and Knock at the Cabin. He’s also been on TV shows including Glee and Mindhunter.
He’s famous for being the first to play King George in the stage production of Hamilton, and recently appeared in two episodes of Doctor Who as a love interest for Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor, Rogue.
