Adi Shankar, the creator of the popular animated series Devil May Cry on Netflix, has confirmed that a third season is in development, and it will be the last.
After two popular seasons in 2025 and 2026, the show will return for a final season to conclude the story arc known as the Force Edge saga.
Shankar writes about what’s to come, and it’s safe to say he’s pretty pleased with himself:
He describes his Devil May Cry show as a modern take on Dante’s Divine Comedy, filled with action and featuring a distinctive red-coated character. He explains that each season of the show corresponds to one of the three parts of the famous poem, with Season 3 representing Paradiso.
In 2025, the first season of the show was viewed 21.7 million times. More recently, the second season gained 6.4 million views in its first two weeks.
Shankar explains that the upcoming ‘Season 3’ won’t follow the typical format of a television season. Instead, he’s creating a detailed plan to achieve victory in the game, promising to reveal it soon in ‘Paradise’.
Alrighty.
