Section 9 Interactive and Epic Games have revealed that their action-adventure game, End of Abyss, will launch on PC (only through the Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 1st. The announcement and a new trailer were showcased at Summer Game Fest 2026, and you can watch the trailer below.
The new trailer is just under a minute long and shows off the game’s focus on exploration. As expected, End of Abyss promises a deeply immersive atmosphere, tasking players with navigating tight, underground areas filled with bizarre and terrifying creatures. Players will also need to manage limited resources to survive.
In End of Abyss, the main character is sent to a mysterious underground facility to look into some strange activity. But things quickly become more complicated, and Cel finds themself going further and further into the abandoned and decaying sections of the complex.
In addition to exploring and fighting, End of Abyss lets players gather resources to improve their equipment. Better gear means they can take on stronger enemies as they venture further into the abyss. Exploration is central to the game, and players will use tools like a Scanner to help them discover secrets and survive.
Players can also expect metroidvania-style gameplay in End of Abyss, where discovering new tools will unlock previously inaccessible areas.
