Mighty Cuphead Adventure is a new game by Studio MDHR, and it perfectly captures the feel of classic retro action platformers.

This game is a retro-style, side-scrolling adventure where you run, jump, and shoot your way through levels. What makes it special is that it authentically recreates the look and technical limitations of classic 8-bit games, despite being released on today’s consoles and PCs.
The creators of Mighty Cuphead Adventure aren’t just drawing inspiration from 1980s games – they’re actually building it like a game from that era. They’re using the original Assembly Language programming and designing it specifically for the SEGA Master System console, just like games were made back then.
The game works on today’s systems, but amazingly, it can also be played on the classic SEGA Master System. It’s more than just a game inspired by the 80s – it was actually created with the same technical restrictions a game studio would have faced back then.
Many games borrow elements from this older style, or try to recreate the visuals and gameplay of classic 8-bit titles, but Mighty Cuphead Adventure takes it to the extreme. It’s a remarkably bold and well-executed project.
We don’t know much about the game yet, and there’s no release date announced. Hopefully, it won’t be too long before we hear more.
