The highly anticipated sequel to a popular Isekai anime will premiere this summer, and Crunchyroll has announced the release date. While several Isekai anime have already returned with new seasons this year, more are still on the way in the latter half of 2026, including a long-awaited second season for a franchise fans have waited almost ten years to see.
The first season of Yojo Senki: Saga of Tanya the Evil finished in 2017, and was followed by a movie. Now, after almost a decade, the anime series is returning with Season 2 this summer. The new season will premiere on July 8th, and a new poster has been released to celebrate its upcoming arrival.
When Does Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 Come Out?

I’m so excited to share that Season 2 of Yojo Senki: Saga of Tanya the Evil is finally coming on July 8th! And the best part? Crunchyroll will be the only place to watch it as each new episode drops in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and the CIS! Plus, they’re bringing a special panel to Anime Expo this July, so that’s something I’m definitely planning to check out. July is going to be amazing for fans!
Season 2 of Saga of Tanya the Evil will have a new director, Takayuki Yamamoto, taking over from Yutaka Uemura at Studio NUT. Kenta Ihara is returning to write the scripts, and Yuji Hosogoe will once again be the character designer and chief animation director. The opening theme song, “Why? RED induction.,” will be performed by MYTH&ROID, and Aoi Yuki, who voices Tanya, will sing the ending theme, “Weiter! Weiter!”
What to Know for Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2

Season 2 of Saga of Tanya the Evil will bring back the original voice actors, including Aoi Yuki as Tanya Degurechaff, Saori Hayami as Visha, and Shinichiro Miki as Rerugen. Joining them are new cast members Tomokazu Sugita as Mikel and Yoko Hikasa as Lilya. In Japan, the season will be accompanied by a short anime series, but it’s currently unknown if or when those episodes will be available outside of Japan.
The anime Saga of Tanya the Evil has been a major part of Kadokawa’s popular isekai lineup, appearing in crossovers like Isekai Quartet. Surprisingly, this is the first full TV season for the series. It’s a unique story, placing a reincarnated character inside the body of a young girl during a massive world war, so be sure to check it out on Crunchyroll!
