Halloween: The Game’s Single-Player Campaign Focuses on Michael Myers’ Origins

Illfonic’s horror games haven’t always pleased fans, particularly those who prefer playing alone. But Halloween: The Game is different – it includes a complete single-player story mode that explores the beginnings of Michael Myers. You can see a preview below.

You won’t be exploring Michael’s past, at least not as far as we know. Instead, you’ll play as the Michael Myers from the original film: breaking out of a mental hospital during a storm, stealing a car, and heading to Haddonfield. Soon, he begins a terrifying killing spree, and eventually finds the iconic mask that completes his look.

The scene includes several knives, and predictably, Michael Myers grabs the largest one, mirroring a classic movie trope. The description of him moving in the shadows hints at a key skill he’ll have in the game’s multiplayer mode. Meanwhile, Dr. Samuel Loomis is pursuing him, hoping to intervene before it’s too late.

Halloween: The Game will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC starting September 8th. If you enjoy playing multiplayer games, you should definitely watch the overview trailer to learn about how the game works, including how players can defend themselves against Michael Myers.
